I love both but I would have to say Pink Floyd is the most amazing assemblage of artists to ever exist.
Led Zeppelin... I dont really care about Floyd, Zepp is just great to hear when your in deep thought.
Just thought i would throw this out there. Please PM me if u have any good Reaserch Chem sites. the one i used was shut down
Zeppelin is wayyyy better than Pink Floyd in my opinion. Pink Floyd had a couple of good albums and a lot of crap. Zeppelin is one of the all-time supergroups. Zeppelin has better psychedelic stuff than Floyd, and also obviously rocks WAY harder. Every member of Zeppelin destroys the equivalent member of Floyd. The only category in which Floyd easily beats Zeppelin is lyrics, but I've never cared much about lyrics anyway. Floyd is a great band, but Zeppelin is possibly the greatest hard rock band of all time.
so many better bands then the sterotypical top bands like the dead, hendrix, zeppelin, floyd. dont get me wrong i love their music too, but open your ears and expand your horizons. there i better music out there being made today.
I think there is a lot of really good music out there and it's really a "to each his own" subject but the answer is obvious to me. THE GRATEFUL DEAD This isn't to say that I don't absolutely love other music. Currently I just cannot seem to stop listening to The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds album. It's probably one of the best albums of all time and when you hear it you'll understand. But I understand that a lot of you probably don't like the beach boys but give it a chance. It's very psychedelic and makes multiple references to tripping (if you like that sort of thing).
pink floyd vs. zeppelin....zeppelin is i think much more talented and rock much harder...floyd i enjoy for relaxing on a long car ride or tripping i also prefer floyd cuz its more mellow...i do think rush is one of, if not the most talented band, member for member.... gucci, could u throw out some names of some good bands out today w/ similar styles of those u mentioned...id be interested to hear some stuff
I'm with you ShadyGrove, Pet Sounds is AMAZING. Tripping or not. Every time I refer to it I get a lot of shit because of their earlier image, but later beach boys is definitely ranked on my top 5.
umm. i dunno. they arent exactly that style of music, but i really like ozric tentacles. sphongle. umm chkchkchk. rattatat. i like that kinda shit. god even coheed and cambria has some sick shit. im just sick of always hearing the same bands on this forum.
I think the main reason you hear the same shit on every post in this forum is because everybody knows them so we all have that in common. I don't know of anybody that checks out every obscure artist that is mentioned just because someone says their good. I'm very open minded myself when it comes to music (I even like a lot of "noise musicians") but I don't care to hear about every bodies favorite band their uncle heard of during a fest 10 years ago. Na mean?
no not at all. it just occured to me that all the sites were shut down. but i agree the doors dont get enough respect. there one of my top 20s
Both bands are great, but I no more listen to Zep, I have, so to say, overeaten them. Some years ago I listened to Physical Graffitti every day for about 4 months. I couldn't help it But I love only 2 their albums - 1 & PG. As for PF - I love almost every their album. And I still listen to them after many years. They are so diverse. /How many times do u need to listen to one song to feel it the best way? And when do u usually get used to it & don't want to listen to it anymore? With various bands I have different terms, I must say. /As for Rush - I'm not a big fan...
enlighten us! edit: 'i see you already did. nice to see people who are into shpongle/ozrics, ever tried eat static, i believe one of those guys from ozric is behind that project.' i like pink floyd better than led zep. why? just because of how it makes me feel, nothing more to be said edit: after reading some more i decided to add that i think pink floyd is way more deeper than led zep on a emotional and psychological way. i mean ever heard those solos from david gilmour, ever really got into it? it sometimes makes me cry like a baby to be honest. it's just sick how much emotional load they add to their music. funny thing is that i think that some of the most beautiful pieces of music they brought out are on the division bell album, which i think is not very well known, though albumwise wish you were here ukmmagummah are their best albums
i love all these bands (i grew up on led zepplin/floyd) but is anyone into the current scene at all? new deal? bassnectar? bisco? sts9? thievery corp?just out of curiosity ... i love all types of music (well, hip hop, electronic and rock) but have slowly gravitated towards the jam/electro movement.
