What's The Longest You've Gone Without The Internet, Recently?

I just went 12 days without internet. During the holiday season, when I had time off work to stay home and relax, And my internet got cut off. I don't have cable, because anything I need is on the internet....and my hard drive which had a ton of music/movies decided to stop working the same week.

I can tell you, that for as long as internet is available, I will pay for it.



It fucking sucks without internet no matter how much I say I could live without it, I never will unless forced too like the past two weeks!

Hell and back! I just kissed my screen.

 

I went forty years without internet once. But then again, for most of those years, THERE WAS NO INTERNET!

Good god, what would a person ever do?

 

That's why I said recently.

The first 17 years of my life i had none either. And I was happy, fine, had an awesome childhood and am grateful for everything.
Totally grounded and close to my family, i consider myself lucky for what I have in my life that's not related to computer/internet.
..but the ability to learn, grow, and entertain yourself at your fingertips is a huge luxury that, like driving, I would never want to go without again
And I will pay what I need to in the future to have that.

If I was forced to for some reason, like a year without it for a million or whatever, I know I COULD make it work.
...but with the given option I would never choose to be without the internet again in the history of my life.

Without living through it, I thought it would be nothing and who cares I could use my phone for whatever, dvds or just what I had here. But after two weeks, I realize how much I use the internet for. Just to be able to communicate with people and send/recieve work/files is something that is overlooked when it's a daily simple occurance.

 

Not long enough.

 

I'm sure I would suffer if my internet was cut off for two weeks, but I live in a pretty remote area. it's not easy to even get radio signal where I live.

recently? maybe an hour when i had to fill in as a lifeguard. not too long ago, i could have said i was without every time i drove somewhere, but now i have a smartphone so that's not true anymore.

within the last few years, i've only really been without internet a couple times for a week or so after moving to a new place, while waiting for the cable company to come hook it up. not my most recent move though; the cable guy actually showed up on the day i moved in.

the longest break i've had after i got internet for the first time was around 2 years. i also had no tv during that time. i did have video games and pot though, so i was happy.

 

Seems to go down every 15 minutes here... Are we allowed to add those together?

 

Aside from the first 10 years or my life, about two weeks. I've gone without it for longer voluntarily... or, rather, just forgetting about it because I didn't need it. Usually in the summer. This includes my smartphone too. They're both nice to have but they're not my life

 

The internet has been turned off indefinitely
