i really liked Disco Biscuits at the calvin 11/3/06. the second set is one the best sets ive ever heard. Also claypool puts on some of the best shows, espically C2B3. I cant remember the date, but it was at the roxy in boston. hmmm i cant pick the best though.

my best experience at a show was Trey Band 5/29/02....everything clicked, reality was lost in the flow of the music....couldn't of asked for a better night......but i've been to other shows that upon listening back were actually better shows....

this is an impossible question, atleast for me because at the time immediately after I find myself saying that was the best show I've ever seen..atleast for UM shows that is. I only saw Phish once, I was in elementary school at the time but I got a wilson opener and a sick ass YEM in the second set... It hasta rank up there in top 3

SCI 7/14/06 was AWSOME! Its definately up there for me too. But I think I gotta say my first Phish show was the best. 3-28-03, its on livephish CD, ya'll should check it out. They played Destiny Unbound which just made the show that much more awsome.

Wow to say this or that is the best show I have ever seen by anyone would be way to hard so instead I am going to list some of my favorite bands & the best show i have ever seen played by that particular band and why.

    1. Phish- Desert Sky Amp Phoenix Az 7-21-98
(Set I) Ac/Dc Bag, Fluffhead, Roggae, Tube, Sparkle, Cavern, Frankie Says, Run like an Antelope
(Set II) Mike's song>Simple>*Bittersweet hotel>Weekapaug groove, Brian & Robert, Ghost, **She caught Katy, Funky bitch
    (Encore) Sleeping Monkey, Rocky top.

    * first time played
** first time played in 8 years
7-21-98 was a fantastic show. (2nd phish show for me) not only did I get to see the first ever played bittersweet (which I love) it also had a phenominal set list & was played at a very high level. Depending on what day you ask me, this is my all time favorite show from any musician.

    2. The String Cheese Incident, Orleans Ballroom Las Vegas 10-29-05
(Set I) *Get down tonight>*Black & White, Sittin on top of the world, MLT, Sirens, Lost>Search>Drums, *Thriller
(Set II) Las Vegas, **Hey pocky way, Pack it up, Way back home, Rivertrance>Drifting, This must be the place (Naive melody)>Desert Dawn>Restless wind
    (Encore) *Miss brown's teahouse

    * Featured horns, Danny sears (tonal evengelists?)
** Featured Brendan Bayless from Umphry's McGee

This was the show that made me realize that there are other great bands on this planet besides Phish. Cheese is one of the most complete sounding bands on the planet & with the horns there is nothing like it. Not only was it a great set & musicianship but the electronic places they took sirens & especially desert dawn are out of this world & quite possibly the most psychedelic music I have ever heard in my entire life. This is my favorite show of all time on the other days that 7-21-98 isn't ;)

    3. Sound tribe sector 9, Red Rocks Colorado 8-13-05
(Set I) Really wut? Open E, Kamuy, GLOgli, Tokyo, Somesing, Peopls, Tap-in

I seen several sts9 shows. I'm not sure if it was the mushrooms, the fact that it was my first magical time at red rocks or because it was my first time seeing sound tribe but even though this show was only one set its still my choice for the best show i have ever seen from them. Absoluely loved the setlist & there is nothing like hearing tribe's music bouncing off of the walls at red rocks.

Well I have run out of time for today. maybe tomorrow i'll put up some other favorite personal shows I've been to. peace ya'll.

Cheese summer 2006 was the shit! I'm glad someone else here feels the same way. All the old school cheese heads especially on PT always talk shit about everything after 2002. My favorite from 2006 was flagstaff and it got some serious consideration about being listed above instead of vegoose late night. I love the addition of the 2nd drummer & their electronic side. I think both additions have added some much to their texture & ability to keep it interesting.

dude i love cheese....my favorite year being 01....but, damn 2003 was the heat!! "old school" fans love to talk about the good old days... they think they sound smarter or better by saying it use to be better....but cheese was awesome till the end....i loved seeing them in Berkeley summer 07...a great way to say goodbye or rather, till next time...

Not sure this post fits since they weren't a jam band or Dead/Phish related AT ALL...but Porno for Pyros at Bogart's...jeez, in 95 or 96 maybe???? It's the closest I've been to a "spiritual" experience at a show. Half way through I wanted to sell all my shit and become a wandering monk or something.

Too bad Perry is making such awful music these days.

My best show was the Grateful Dead at Lewiston Fairgrounds, Lewiston, Maine on Sept. 6, 1980. Perfect and mind-blowing.
