The constitution is outdated. Seems to be the new mantra of the youth of today. Please explain what about it is outdated. I'd really like to understand the reasoning behind this new mindset.
It isn't the constitution at all. It's the old, white men who have been interpreting it for 220 years. Most of the young people who complain are seeing the results, not the spirit or intent. Or it could be that they want to do whatever they want without laws and government, this so-called anarchy. But when some asshat comes along and shoots one of their loved ones in the head, they'll start crying about laws again. Political evolution is cyclical. We'd all be better off as non-violent non-participants.
Built into it are checks and balances which would limit that interpretation if only the voting electorate would wake up and give a damn.
You are correct, which is why I worded my post carefully. It is most often misinterpreted by young people who have been "oppressed" by their parents and believe it means anything goes. Also by the extreme right who believe it threatens their powerbase. Thankfully, it DOES.
see "Articles of Confederation" Hate to oversimplify things, but the Constitution was our downfall. Federalists/Zionists/Fascists.... what's the difference?
"Our safety, our liberty, depends upon preserving the Constitution of the United States as our fathers made it inviolate. The people of the United States are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution." -Abraham Lincoln
I would like to see more power given to the average citizen. We can start by allowing citizens to vote on unelected officials.
Also, before anyone accuses Lincoln of being a constiutional asshole because he suspend habeus corpus in some spots, if you read the article about it in the constitution, the president has the right to suspend habeus corpus "The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion the public safety may require it." And no, states do not have the right to leave the union, otherwise the federal government would be held hostage to every state in the union, imagine if California threatened to leave the union every time it didn't get it's way.
The reason people believe that the Constitution is outdated is because this is what the media and education (indoctrination) system -- which is controlled by the very same people who are woking to destroy the Constitution -- are beating into people's heads. Most of the public lacks the brain capacity to think for themselves, so they just regurgitate this mantra and believe it's their own opinion, feeling proud that they're saying what everyone else is saying. But here's the thing. America was founded with a secret destiny. This country was founded to do exactly what it's doing today, which is basically to be the trojan horse to usher in a "New World Order" (hence the term "new world"). After it had served its purpose doing what it was set up to do, the founders knew it would be brought down and merged into this new order -- the "Great Work" -- they were working towards over 200 years ago. History paints the founders as great and noble men when, for the most part, they were Freemasonic sellouts who were anything but as they are portrayed in the high school text books and History Channel. The Constitution was given to the people to basically set up a system where the people would work for what they believe is a common purpose, thus creating a common culture that would be exported around the world. People who believe they're free are more efficient and effective workers. What they did not realize is that this work was to build their own shackles. Now that the work has been done and their system is now in place, the Constitution no longer serves a purpose to those at the top, whose goal has always been complete and total control over the world and its people. To see the full truth, you have to realize there are two sides to every side given. ALWAYS!
Rat for some reason I had it in my head that you'd burst in giving all the reasons that the US Constitution is and always was a horrible thing. Much as I do for women, I'm just going to stop trying to understand you. But good answer.
I have a hard time buying into the premise that in a society that didn't even have a Pony Express that their main motive was in developing a global economic instrument that would rule the world.
I mean unelected officials shouldn't just be appointed by those we elect. Everyone that has power within our government should be directly voted for by the people and not simply appointed positions of power by those that we DO elect.
The cabinet though is supposed to answerable solely to the president as it's supposed to be people that support his views, but it'd be impossible for the president to do all the jobs of each of them, hence why those spots exist. Cabinet members do have to approved by vote in the senate though. As for supreme court judges don't you think that'd make them too easily influenced by any stupid view that's going on at the time, or not following constitutional law and just voting on whatever got them reelected. Take Brown vs Board of Education, is the supreme court had to be elected that case would've never won back when it did, maybe a decade or so later.
The new mantra? funny I've never heard it then. I googled searched it and nothing interesting came up. Maybe this is just a made up issue?
