I hear great things about a pig roast but I am skeptical after having fried turkey.

I've built the perfect pit for cooking a pig but I don't want to.

I'm probably a terrible person because I eat meat but don't want to look at it's face.

A friend of mine smoked a whole hog once and it was the best bbq i've ever had. He made vinegar, tomato, and mustard based sauces to go with it

It's mostly blacks that do that around here. And the few blacks that I am close enough to...they aren't the kind that cook more than a Coleman grill worth of food.

I dated a girl who said hunting is horrible. You can just buy your meats at the store. I got tired of explaining how backwards her thinking was. I wonder if she ever got it.

Hubby says I'm too squeamish to make it off grid.

    I'm like,

No. I'd just have you do the gross stuff.

Oh I don't know. I had to do all that at a time in my life. Kill, dress out and puck the chickens and skin the rabbits also the ducks and turkeys I did them too. It was just life. If you wanted to eat you went out into the barn yard and got what you needed. I am glad that I don't have to do it now. Going to the super and buying the meat is much easier and cleaner and less smelly.

Y'all might have heard my rabbit story...

My brother got two rabbits. You know how that goes. Soon there were 30 rabbits.

One morning I heard them in the back, behind the house where the rabbit cages were. I peeked out the window and saw my dad and my brother, dragging the rabbits out by their back legs, karate chopping them in the neck, and throwing them in the back of the truck.

I freaked the fuck out. I've never gotten over that.

About a month later, my grandparents came to visit. They brought in a box of foil wrapped packages for the freezer....

    It was the rabbits.

My grandparents hung around all day, my grandmother helping mom cook.

Dinner time came and the rabbits were on the table.

    I freaked out again.

I ran from the table, crying.

I told my parents and my grandparents that I hated them and that they were the meanest people in the world.

    I think I broke my granddaddy's heart.

That's been about 50 years ago but some stuff you never forget.

Ya, I know. My granddad won a baby pig. Us kids babied the baby pig and yes we named him "Porky" . As he grew we hitched to a cart and he pulled us around the farm. Then one Sunday at my Gran's for dinner we were at the dinner table eating and my brother said "Oh I forgot to go see Porky. Let's go out and gave him an apple." My Granddad said "You can't go see Porky, he is on your plate you're eating him". We all broke out in huge horrible tears and screams. So, Ya I know. But it was a thing. I started out cleaning chickens with my Granddad before I really got the horror of it. it was just us kids had made a pet of Porky. The chickens never were my friends.

You did tell the story before but it was worth repeating.

First hockey game over we won 6-1. I played defence and still got a goal. Going to the second game now.

This week was insanely busy here. Today I am working on getting rest.

Yesterday was a baby shower for my cousin and it was a lot of fun. Caught up with some relatives I have not seen in a long time which is great to do.

Leela is driving me crazy right now as she is having a false pregnancy. She totes around stuffies and cries. My other female, Cricket, years ago did this every heat she was not bred. It usually lasted weeks......oh joy. :)

Kids are on reading week this week so I am thinking this week may also be busy. Not a bad thing at all. :)

Won the second game 3-2. Got another goal. Only the third time we won 2 games in a week. We are pretty good when everyone shows up.

    I'm so wiped out, tired.

A person shouldn't be this tired from just the stuff I did today.

    This sucks.
