Why is gasoline priced in tenths of a cent? You look at the sign in front of a convenience store and it says Regular $2.59⁹ or whatever. Why not just $2.60? I can't think of anything else that's priced in increments of ⅒ cents.

 

Probably something to do with when gas was only so many cents a gallon. thats my guess.

It is like you and GB took the words right out of my brain.

 

My philodendron cutting is finally starting to shoot out some healthy roots. It started rooting once before but they turned black and the leaves got all wilty. I was going to throw it out but thought I'd try again so I cut off about 1/4" from the stem and cut off the dead roots and kept it in a glass of bottled water this time; I thought maybe the water from my well was too hard or something.

I really want this plant to do well. I cut it (while no one was watching) from a plant at Cumberland Heights the night before I was discharged. I was looking forward to watching it grow and hoped it would be a reminder for me.

So I don't really know much about house plants. How long should the roots get before I stick it in some dirt? Does it need just regular ol' potting soil? Any plant food?

 

Whew howdy folks. Beautiful evenin' here at the farm. Sittin' rockin' to some Kenny Chesney, watchin' the lambs in their new pasture, listenin' to the cricket song with an IPA in my hand. Spent the mornin' seedin' some lettuce, midday pickin' some squash, zucchini' & cucumbers, then the afternoon transplanting some chard & cucumbers from the greenhouse into the field.
