I have a sour apple tree and the fruit has been dropping like mad. Last night I picked about a quarter bushel and boiled them down. Added a little sugar and some cinnamon and made this most savory apple sauce. Green apple sauce! Tonight we're having cold left over meatloaf on sourdough with DelMonte ketchup and a little creamed corn on the side. YUM!
HI {{{{DUNCAN}}}}, Hope all is going well with you.Missed you around these parts, but i know you've been busy. Tonight it was red beans mixed with great northern bean,cooked with chopped banana peppers from the garden and onions. Over top of brown rice, then shredded jack with jalepeno cheese over top. And of course corn bread. Then we had watermelon....mmmmm.
yum a dinner thread! Tonight was leftover black beans and couscous, but for tomorrow I've got some sweet corn that I picked up at the roadside stand. I plan to stir fry some broccoli, peppers, onions and collard greens from the garden in olive oil with curry, ginger and garlic. I've got some juicy plums to finish it off. I'm getting hungry just talking about it.

Ditto on the missing seeing you around, Duncan... glad also for this kind of thread.... We finally got over to Twin Springs Buffalo Farm on Saturday and bought a couple of Buffalo steaks. Gonna have them tonight with new greens salad and sauteed shrooms.
