What's all that shit hanging from your locks?

So, I was wondering what's all that shit hanging from your locks?
Do you keep all your most treasured trinkets hanging from you head? Why?
Is it an outward expression of your findings and accomplishments? Or do you just enjoy getting smacked in the face by a piece of metal every time the wind blows?
Is it your way of saying "No, I don't look eccentric enough with dreads alone today, let me hang a car tire from one of them"?
Ok, ok, ok,
But, really though, why all the beads, and the synthetics, and the random shit in your hair? For the love of gawd, why?

I like to decorate,I love decorating my tree at christmas too

 

i like the stuff cause it adds colour to my hair. as for trinkets, ive got a 'goddess' charm, i quite like that.

mostly its just to make my hair look a bit less bland

 

I don't have dreads but I think when people put beads and things it looks cool, a kind of self expression to make their dreads unique. kinda like when ppl without dreads use barrets or extensions

I had two rings and my braid, Lost one of the rings the other night which was kinda crap, i just like the way it looks, your hair should be something special, a reflection of who you are

this comes across realli bitchy I think one of the fun things about having dreads is that you can sew things into them, and put beads on them. It's just another thing you can do with dreads that you can't do with silky brushed hair.
I also think it's cool to see growth. One bead a friend sewed onto the top of one dread and now it's past my cheek.
I mean it's just like wearing jewellery but on your hair, who cares? I don't see what the big deal is.

 

but, you've already got locks. i guess i'm just not one of those on a crusade to "express myself". i thought having locks was expression enough. no offense, but i would never put any of that stuff in my hair, i think it look pretty ridiculous.

 

I think most of what you type is pretty ridiculous but can never be arsed to say anything because I think you're probably a total bitch to argue with. But that's just my impression

 

and i could care less if it sounds bitchy. it was more sarcasm than anything. but, i really think it looks stupid. just an opinion.

 

Personally, I do it to help with the loops since some are way too crazy looking for me.

This is the same idea but with jewelry on your body, why wear jewelry or spend so much on it when it really has no purpose? But like I said, I use beads to help with separating the dreads as well as hold down on the loopiness.

 

I guess some ppl like the plain jane look.

what you've written is ridiculous. most of the people on this site have dreads because they like them; me being one of them. And I don't see how a fucking bead or wrap is-on a crusade to "express myself".
do you wear jewellery, if you do whats the difference between decorating your neck/ears to your hair? I mean you might as well be saying: 'you've already got locks why do you decorate your skin with tattoos?!'
