well fish are here to....be fish. not to be fun for humans entertainment. its sad that people confine them to a tank...but thats the way it is, and they need to be cared for just like dogs and cats do. everytime i make a trip to petsmart i always am so sad for the animals that they have displayed there in little tanks like "items". its so alien to me. i prefer to care for dogs and cats because cages are a moral dilemma for me....even tho those animals need a home too. i have two dogs and a cat right now and hopefully i can keep the stray thats been coming around. but if it becomes close to winter and she still has not gotten fond enough of me to come inside i will have to trap her and take her to the spca to be adopted.
Totally agree Have cared for fish before, and not they are exactly the most interactive exciting creatures. Still they have many merits, it's very soothing and interesting to watch them swim around and interact. Also used to have a hamster. They're great fun, always so cheerful and playing. Not too hard work to look after either. Only major downsides are they don't like long and keep antisocial hours. Am of course very devoted to my rabbits, all the fun of cats & dogs, but generally lower maintanence. They can become free roaming house rabbits, but ours do have a hutch. They appreciate being able to be outside (considering they are wild animals) and it gives us peace of mind that they aren't going to get hurt or damage anything while unsupervised. So shall probably stick with rabbits, though would love to adopt a dog or two in future. Maybe some farm animals too, like chickens, if I had the room. All would be rescues of course.
I like both dogs and cats...have had cats most of my life, but currently being taught how to be owned by a dog by my li'l shih tzu...
As much as I'm hugely obsessed with parrots, they're really a commitment pet, so I tend to stick with rodents..ahah.
we have a dog now, and i had tried to have: rabbit, birds, a mice and and varius insects.. and i must say i wan't to have reptiles again, i think they are cute. the only reptiles i won't have i snakes, they require to much work and handle..
i want another fox so bad but i dont think this apartment will let me keep a fox..so i guess i want a bird that will get along with my weirdo cat
yea she was, i raised her from a baby that fit in the palm of my hand, she was beautiful & got along great with all my other animals & all the dogs in the park..i would love to get another 1 someday
i dont care for dogs much n the only good cat is stuffed,,,, barnyard animals are good pets for short attention span owners n become food so its kinda like recyclin in a sense... aquatic critters are kinda neat to get stoned n zone out on n are generally flushable,,, so when they die it aint like ya gotta dig a big ol hole... snakes n rodents n spiders are kinda fun when ya just enjoy the weird reactions of folks n skeerin some too... so would have to answer that wild critters are my favorite pets,,,, no fuss no muss unless i feel like feedin them,,, can sit n talk to a variety of them all day long and never hanve the same conversation twice,,,, ya aint gotta eattum unless ya choose to and when they die,,,, other critters take care of that too.... n that is a perfect pet fer anyone.
dogs for me. i like a few cats, but i don't really want any. I had a guinea pig who was also amazing.
I LOVE my dogs, but I am hoping to get a Hedgehog soon! I just have to wait for the rescue center in Boone to get another one! :3
i like rodents, myself. i have a rat, a hamster and a guinea pig, as well as my cat. i don't like having to keep them in cages, but everyday i take my rat outside and we play tag, and my hamster has a giant ball she can roll around the house in. the guinea pig is lucky and lives in an outside pen at my boyfriend's house with another guinea pig, a bunny and a turtle. i really liked having a fish. he just died actually, he was pink and his name was floyd. i would sit and watch him for long periods of time and sometimes if i stuck my finger in the bowl he let me pet him as he swam by.
I would probably have a guinea pig or a rat or a rabbit for pet than a dog or cat or fish or bird. I like fish, but I'd feel bad about keeping them in a tiny little bowl. Ugh, some pet stores have fish stacked up on each other's bowls like 4 deep. They float around dead >_< And birds can be really expensive. I've seen some for like 1200$ and stuff. *has gotten off track*
Doggies! but I also have two really cool lizards that I love! here's Jerry my bearded dragon... he's my baby, he loves to run around the house and cuddle on the couch. this is Opie my clubbed tailed iguana. he's pretty cool, he loves to hang from the top of his tank.
Cats... i have 3 of them... cats are extremely chill animals.. and really fit my personality well... guess thats why i like'em so much
ohh they are cute.. i like the bearded dragon very much. i wanna have reptiles again.. but then again, they might find my white mouse as food and not friend..
