if you have $25 and want to go to the grocery store and get enough food to feed two people for five days...

being that you have in the house... potatoes, rice, eggs, chicken broth, chicken and a roast???

Milk, carrots, bread, peanut butter.......I dunno about American prices though, so I am guestimating. ;)

I would cut up the roast and make stew with cheap veggies to stretch it.

Homemade soup, stew, etc is the way to go. You can make a huge pot and freeze them. I usually make veggie soup maybe twice a month and freeze them in GLAD plastic bags. They're great for lunch. It all costs under 20 dollars.

    I use:

    Green pepper (2)
    Onions (2)
Green onions (as many as you want)
    Fresh parsley
    Carrots (2-3)
    2 canned diced tomatoes
    3 canned stewed tomates
One can of dry veggie broth

First boil 2/3 pot full of water along with all the vegetables and parsley. Add the tomatoes and the full can of dry broth. It'll be ready!!

You can add or take out whatever you want. You will need a reallly big pot because it would make about 6-8 plastic large GLAD bags full of soup.
