I've made an informal list of my own predictions. It could turn out to be ridiculously wrong, of course. But now that we're more than halfway through the decade, I'll commit to my predictions so far. I'm missing more than a few, I'm sure. But I don't consider myself that deeply rooted here to be able to say. Submitted for any thoughts/comments. 420. Among marijuana smokers and those who empathize with them, "420" just refers to "pot-smoking time," whether 4:20 PM or AM, or if April 20 or in honor of any nation in the world where the time of day is 4:20, or was very recently 4:20 or will soon be 4:20. On January 4th, Abramoff pled guilty to two criminal felony counts in a different federal court related to fraudulent dealings with SunCruz Casinos. The wrong war, at the wrong time, in the wrong place, for the wrong reasons, wrongly but deliberately given an impossible mission, and backed by investors given limitless access and ability to defraud the US Treasury. Worse yet, it was contrived by the fanatical, deemed necessary by the profane, led by the incompetent, inspired by the immoral, financed by the preditory, and all baked at 125 bodyfluid-sucking degrees Fahrenheit while the band played on. Yet somehow our cousins and brothers and dads and sons and in-laws and daughters and mothers have persevered in the most impossible of circumstances. Some United States Marines and others have gone further, and one described his reason for refusing yet another tour of duty in Iraq with simple words, explaining his loyalty to the US Constitution with two simple words: "Semper Fidelis." This decade will be most remembered for the Pan-American Union, which is just a few years from becoming a reality and will merge the US with Mexico and Canada, eviscerating the national sovereignty of all three as a major step towards the creation of a one world government. I also think we're going to see another "terrorist" attack on American soil before the decade is over, which will make 9/11 look like a picnic by comparison. State-sponsored terrorism will be needed to condition the masses for what's to come, which is a total loss of their freedoms, rights, sovereignty, property and money.
Very true, especially after the mexican elections were supposedly fixed so that the conservative candadite won.
Yeah I was listening to this radio show on KFI 640 here in L.A(not Coast to coast am but the show that came on afterwards) and they had this guy on talking about this same thing. This guy said Congress didn't even know about it.And he said theres a website you can go to to see pictures of what their planning to do.Was it Nasco?Or something like that?Do you know what website I'm talking about RAT? If I heard right, they plan to make some kind of super-highway that connects America,Canada and Mexico. I was really tired when I heard this,so what i'm saying might not make any sense...lol.
When I was 18 years old, an old man told me "Not in my lifetime, but probably in yours, Mexico will be part of the United States. You remember that." Personally I think they'll be colony, not actually part of our system. They'll get all the bad, and not a single bit of the good, if there's even any good left by then. And poor Canada... man... and they don't even see what's coming
September 11, US aggression in the Middle East and George Bush's stupidity; Tsunami in Southeast Asia; Earthquake in Pakistan; more of stupid GWB; etc... And probably the usual memories of crap fashion, and old school music.
As far as the youth culture goes, style is everything, the scene is consumed by talentless knock-offs of often talentless mainstream and screamo bands. We will be remembered for the meth epidemic and the sudden popularity in perscription drugs. Other than that, most of the main political events have been covered.
That's probably all that will be remembered by many. A war that tore up countless families. But Bush hasn't had enough, and nothing less than WW3+Nukes seems likely to satisfy the bastard's bloodlust.
I think that in 2026 they'll curse us for the carbon emmissions that we produced from Exxon Mobil,USA ,to India & China,& from the upsurge in air travel & automobile carbon dioxide/carbon monoxide, which the good folks of 2026 will try desperately to clean up. They'll resent the fact that President Bush spent 8 years sitting on his arse, doing nothing about 'global warming' because it would 'cost American jobs' -lamentable in 2026 when USA & European pollution from global warming is costing drought & famine throughout the world.
This decade will be known as the final decade in which the United States was the unquestionable economic power of the global market. After this decade it is no doubt that the United States will face fierce economic competition from China and the EU. By the 2020s, the United States will share economic power of the global market, and by the 2030s, the United States economy will begin to fail. By the 2040s, the United States will be the puppets of Europe, China and Japan. This decade may also be remembered for when the United States started 4 wars for no real good reason. Don't worry, the next 2 wars are coming.
this decade will be remembered as super lame, at least for me it will be. will also probably remembered for the war unfortunatley
nothing happening right now will be as important as the news that will happen in the next 20 years, therefore most of what you are writing about will be forgotten about. Very few people discussed WWII in 1963, my opinion. Probably the most historic event will be one of a personal nature, first hand experience is always embedded in neurons with emotions, the most powerful force in the universe next to the charges of molecules themselves. Hopefully your memories of now remembered in 20 years are dandy ones.
That first post is ridiculously long and jammed together. It will be known for the massive orgy in my backyard next year...
