What Will Be the Fate of the Hip Forums?

I've been wondering. For a long time, it seemed like there were always about 2000 visitors and 100 or more members

Lately, it's been more like 1500 and 75

My theory is that there is a feedback process, so if the number of active threads drops off, fewer people show up, which leads to fewer active threads

will kink take over the forums, and if so, will it drive other forum members away?

what forces drive the popularity of the forums? has the popularity of other forums driven membership change? is it content here? other factors?

what will be the fate of the hip forums?

Good question.

I have a nasty habit of showing up, posting a bunch, then just kind of wandering off. I show up months later and find of that North Korea is starting some shit, bee venom is the cure for HIV (which is particularly interesting to someone who carries around an epi pen) and the sex forums are still bumping and grinding.

I think it will have a longer life than you might think. It's a vessel. Philosophy, blatant statements, trolls, dorks, artists. Places like this are a beacon or whatever. I know not of too many places like this. It's a place where cockroaches can come to gather without having to worry about the light switch. Plus it's warm.

 

I would guess as long as this forum is active it will stay open . Pavlina was perty active , but the site owner Steve Pavlina found out that some of his mods started a site of there own , he got mad and just shut it down . http://www.stevepavlina.com/forums/ desert rat

It's fate is that it needs a new revolution to kickstart it again. Like a few years back when RT actually went away. :O When it came back, I think it was busier than ever.

 

idk, ive been gone for a while, and haven'y really posted anythign or checked up, but then i remembered today about the forum i used to enjoy so much and came to check it out, ill probably check back too. so... +1 member ^.^
