Ground Score: when you find an unclaimed, lost, or abandoned item of value during (or after) a party, concert, bar, club, or festival. What was the coolest thing you've ever ground scored? Where was it? I ground scored a gram of coke at a strip club once. So far that's been my best one.
$40 worth of empties (400 beer bottles) and a $20 bill in the sand sometimes its pays to go to bed early ...wake up early and check out bush party area before the other young entrepreneurs are there
I found an entire pruse once in the street, complete with wallet and credit cards. Me and my buddy walked it back to the girls house though. So I wouldnt really call it a "score".
3 1/4 pound bags of really really good pot... Plus a nice bag of some better stuff, about 20 hits of acid and an ohaus scale. Somebody musta been going out of business, or I beat the cops to it... I donno which.
i think any answer i can give here will come down to pot. given the parameters in the OP, the best i can think of is a joint. expand it to include work, and i've found an eighth. expand it to include my room back in college the day after me and my roommate tripped, and it was probably over an eighth of homegrown scattered about.
I don't know if this counts, but I found a gold nugget in my closet in the first apartment I had on my own. It fell out of one of my purses. My ex boyfriend had given it to me years before. He had gotten it from his father, who was a geologist. He gave it to me and said it was only worth $5.00. Turns out it was worth much more than that.
once in a great while i've found currency. a lucky coin or even folding money. oh i know, a fully functional vhs player, i found once. tyre weights and some kind of long thin metal shims that also seem to be something off a car, though i'm not sure what. tyre weights can be cut, or melted down, to provide balancing weights for various model building items, and i've generally put them to good use in this way. those metal shims have proveded structural elements in model building and also constuming, particularly to make my cat ears stand up. other things, lots of odd hardware. fender washers especially. expensive to buy in any quantity, especially if you don't happen to have any on hand when you need them. lots of other literal nuts and bolts. sometimes the threads are too distorted to use, but often, usually, they're just find. then of course from nature, several things that are edible, miners lettice, and of course wild blackberries. lots of pretty rocks. nothing special monitarily. i used to be a geology student a very long time ago, and know about the kinds of places to look, mineralization in contact zones and so one. my eyes are always open to see what's on the ground when i walk. sometimes when i'm in a car or on a bus i think about and wonder what's on the ground that i'm going past that i'm not seeing because i'm not out there walking instead. but then my feet thank me that im riding and not pounding on them, so that's ok too. i have not found a lot of hi tek items in usable condition, and these are mostly what interest me, but i did mention that one old perfectly function vcr. oh one time, when i was with a group that had salvage rights to a dump, i aquired an old tube type tectronics oscilloscope. it was missing one tube, which, the very same right one, came out of an old car radio from the same dump. these things, you don't find very much in a day or even a year, but this is my score over a life time of keeping my eyes open for things. there's probably other goodies i don't remember, but these are the ones that i do.
this isn't really keeping with the spirit of the thread because I didn't find it at a festival or show, but when visiting Big Sur in CA I found a joint laying on a secluded rock overhang overlooking the ocean. This was almost 10 years ago when mostly all you could find in my state was dirty dirt weed or maybe mids, good weed was hard to come by and medicinal grade marijuana still had a great novelty value for me.
