What was life like in a diggers flop house?

In one of the diggers flop house there was supposedly had times when there were over 300 occupants at a diggers' flophouse. I wondering how bad did hygiene actually get. I know how the Sf Chronicle reported it, but I also don't really see a whole lot in any of the archives (hip or straight) that reported them actually having any body odor. The SF Chronicle never really said how much dog shit was on the floor. I am thinking they found a rare instance and blew it out of proportion. Yes they complained about there not there not being enough hours in the day for everyone to get a single shower every three days, but I think they must of completely forgot that many hippies wasn't shy when it came to 3 or 4 strangers all taking a shower together. So yes I wasn't actually there, I am just trying to imagine how it was like. Does anyone here have any experience with living at a diggers flop house?
