What TV is worth watching?

So I watch a little NFL football and some public television, and that's about it. Maybe a little local news.

I like the PBS Newshour, travel shows, frontline, some misc. history, etc, but mostly I like the science programs like Nova.

BBC has some good science stuff online.

I know lots of people are crazy about Breaking Bad and to a lesser degree Sons of Anarchy. I've never checked these out, not sure if it's worth it.

Most drama/action programming bores me.

Family Guy is kinda funny sometimes, but not funny enough for me to really actively seek it out.

Most movies are also boring/ not worthwhile to me. Also, on cable, there's so many channels, I don't feel like hunting through all of them for stuff that I don't like watching that much anyway.

So what shows/ stations do you think are worthwhile?

Jiskefet was worth staying home for, but that show has been off air for years now.

breaking bad was maybe the best TV show i've ever watched.

i don't watch much TV, but i do watch some select shows.

Sons of anarchy is pretty good, and walking dead too.


lately we are watching American Horror story on netflix.


i used to like Parks and Recreation, but i think it's gotten stupid. and the office was good. better earlier on.

I thought the office was pretty good, but I wasn't devoted to it.

yes! kinda depends on the episode though. pretty much all of them are at least ok, and some are awesome.

 

I'm in the "98% of television is crap" camp, but I wouldn't say all of it is crap.

Ricky Gervais' work is pretty good. I think especially Extras and Life's Too Short were brilliant. I didn't watch it on TV though, but on YouTube so I hope that's allowed in this thread.
