Short story is that I woke up this morning and deicded to fully extract DXM HBr from the CVS Tussin Maximum strength cough syrups I had bought previously. So I'm doing everything as usual and notice my naphtha layer is FILLED nearly 100% with bubbles and that they aren't going away. So figuring whatever it was is ok to ingest (the only active ingrediant was DXM), I drained out the ammonia/syrup layer and started to drain the naphtha layer when I notice that not only is it bubbly as fuck, it's tinted RED like the rest of the shit. Lighter red, but still there. This was the first time I had used VM&P Naphtha as opposed to Ronsonol lighter fluid and IT FUCKING SUCKS!!!! Why is it any differant? I thought this stuff should've worked better so what's going on here? I'm pretty upset, answer quickly! EDIT: the bubbly shit is what's red. Think there's ammonia trapped in those bubbles? What is making the bubbles in the first place?
dude.... why would you extract DXM? it's cheap online. it was bubbly because you shook it up, you're supposed to wait for the emulsion to settle. that middle part is the naphtha mixed in with the water. you gotta leave it for a while, until there are 2 distinct layers.
I've only started to have this problem when I began using VM&P Naphtha as opposed to Ronsonol. Grr. Also, I have no sources to buy DXM online, or I would have =P
By sources to buy online ; what are you saying???? Google dextromethorphan and find out how easy it is to locate suppliers..... If you are woried about having it sent to a parent house/have no credit card etc,,,, just bite the bullet and rent a PO box and pay by money order.... Really now, its's not all that hard......
