ummm to have them stick up youd need hair about ear length at most jaw length. They are done the same as you can do any style of dreads (except it looks like one of those guys has elastic bands :S which i recomend avoiding) they look quite young dreads and they have just been made very thin.
yup... fleassy's right... contact that kid and tell him to cut those rubber bands off! The dreadies are beautiful and they are just going to eat up those bands. lol I'm a pain in the ass.
Those are just young dreads. They're going to grow and thicken over time...so I'm not too sure you'll be able to get that look and maintain it. But that shouldn't stop you from dreading up... You can try just making them thinner if you prefer, and...not letting your hair get too long...?
