What song evokes the most emotion in you, makes you cry, laugh, smile, ect. and why?

I'd have to say The Stairway to Heaven, because it reminds me of my late mother...... It dosn't really make me sad, more like grateful
"And The Forests will echo with laughter..."

    So How about you?

A lot of songs do that to me^^ I'll pick Dancing With the Moonlit Knight by Genesis right now, because I feel like it.
I don't why it affects me that much, It's just so beautiful.

Oo, that's tough as far as songs that bring up memories from real life, etc... Songs from my childhood, songs that were playing during specific moments in my life... there are some songs which really bring back serious emotions like that, but I almost feel like that is a different thing than the music itself eliciting emotions, because some of those songs I don't even like anymore but they still bring back powerful emotions with the memories.

I would say a few songs that affect me very strongly only due to the music are Bold as Love by Jimi Hendrix, especially the 7:00 instrumental take found on the Jimi Hendrix Experience four CD box set. Lots of Beatles songs do the trick... Hey Jude, Strawberry Fields Forever, All You Need is Love. Mother and Isolation from Lennon's first solo album pack quite a punch, too.

Tv on the Radio- Staring at the Sun

I can't really explain into words the feelings I get from listening to this song, happiness is the only word I can use to explain it.

Paper late, cried a voice in the crowd
Old man dies, The note he left was signed Old Father Thames
    - it seems he's drowned,
    selling england by the pound.

Theres a fat old lady outside the saloon
Laying out the credit cards she plays fortune
The deck is uneven right from the start
and all of their hands are playing a part

Wait, nevermind! Best lyrics from that Genesis album,
    the last song :

"I don't belong here," said old Tessa out loud.
"Easy, love, there's the Safe Way Home."
    - and, thankful for her Fine Fair discount, Tess Co-operates

    Still alone in o-hell-o
    - see the deadly nightshade grow

This question is left open for me because different songs affect me in different ways. A certain song can make me cry out of sadness, while another can make me smile, laugh, or bring tears to my eyes out of happiness. Then there are the songs of reflection that make me remember my childhood and other fond memories. It really depends on the mood I am in at the time I listen, as well.
