What should I do for my birthday?

I'm a straight male living in Maryland. I'm turning 23 on July 28th. I have no real birthday ideas other than getting an inflatable pool, making tye dye shirts, and having a cookout with a few of my friends. I need better birthday ideas guys. Help??

Making tie dye shirts isn't my thing but I've known plenty of people over the age of 23 who like making them.

Anyways... to me your idea sounds like fun... the pool and cook out. I typically like stuff like that... outside stuff that are mellow and all in the summer. My birthday is in a little over two weeks- what I usually do for my birthday- if I do anything specific... is either something like that or if there is a small day trip or whatnot that I've been wanting to do I'll end up doing that for my bday. This year for example I've been wanting to take my three year old to Knoebels.. go swimming there earlier in the day and then rides later in the day, so I'll probably end up doing that.


Speaking of MD... one year I remember going to Fell's Point and hitting up a bunch of bars and restaurants for my birthday. That's not really my thing anymore but at the time it was a lot of fun.

July 28th is on a weekday. You can get a muscle rental car on the cheap during weekdays, like a Dodge Challenger from Enterprise.

Walk in and tell them it's your b-day (with puppy dog eyes) and you might score one for the same price as an economy car.

It would look nice parked next to the inflatable pool at the cookout.

 

I must admit that was the 1st thing that came into my head after reading the OP.

Reminds me of Britain where people are expected to call their girlfriend their "partner", for fear of offending minority groups..

Why don't you and your friends travel somewhere, say stay somewhere overnight. Changes of surroundings can be fun.

Made me wonder about the purpose of that too.... like was he trying to get some females to be like "do me for your birthday"--- that's what I'd think if this was a local forum or something. Shrugs, dunno.

Go to bar? I mean its a suggestion but I don't see a bar as special for a birthday, pay more money to get less fucked up around people I like, plus a lot more people i don't even know, and to top it off, I don't get to pick the music? I'll pass.

Yeah I think I'm just gonna go with that, Seems like the best idea economically.

why? that sounds like a pretty good birthday to me.

well you can pick the music. it's just that bar jukeboxes tend to be like a dollar a song these days, so you'll want to pick all of your longest favorite songs if you decide to go that way.

That's the type of stuff I like to do in the summer anyways. Just grill some good food, swim, chill outside, whatever.

The only time I'd wanna go to a bar for my birthday is if I was getting a really awesome meal with it or if a good band was gonna be there. But even so, in the summer I prefer outdoor shows anyways and in general think most bars are boring.

 

I got a birthday soon. I'm going to Salzburg to party up at the Brauhaus.
