I was sweeping leaves off the porch and I thought of my great aunt and how she swept everything at my grandparents, every day. I thought how she would have loved a leaf blower, lol I'd buy Aunt Jessie a leaf blower.
Well, I don't know about newfangled things, but I do know that I saw about 6 super ugly Christmas sweaters at Wal-Mart the other day that my grandma would have had to have. And if she were still alive, I'd be about $60 poorer because by god, that woman would have every one of those ugly sweaters.
id buy my friend gypsy a bigger rear view mirror so he wouldnt pull uturns in front of following tanker trucks gypsy was just a knickname everyone called him..before he did that fateful u-turn
I would buy my Mom some art classes because she really loved to paint pictures. Not saying she was bad at it, it was because she got to paint with other people.
I'd buy mom some hair extensions. She was always so dissatisfied with her fine, thin hair. Once she told me that she wanted to have hair like Linda Evans on Dynasty, lol
i would hope for my now deceased friends and relatives the good fortune, the next time they are born, for it to be in a world were things that are useful and gratifying, would not require to be purchased. for my father to be able to enjoy the images on my computer, that he was so afraid of the idea of having. for my mother also, the freedom of the internet. for my wife who was less paranoid of these things, but none the less not entirely comfortable with them either, her trip to paris, the one in france, that she always wanted. (for reasons that were somewhat delusional, but still, i'm sure its no worse then any other large city, and possibly better then most.) my dad would also love to have had a nice bit of land somewhere. that he could make a fool of himself telling other people how to farm that probably knew better what they were doing then he did. for that matter, i wouldn't mind raising 40 acres of timber bamboo and a family of red pandas myself. not that i think he even know what red pandas are, but he did love seeing natural wild creatures in their own natural habitat. i'm sure he would love to drive a 4 wheeler that was absolutely silent, if there could be such a thing, or a small anti-gravity platform. neither of them seemed to know what an air-pot, or pump type thermos/hot potable liquid dispenser was in 87 when i got back from oregon. for the wonderful girl/woman in my life many years ago who loved horses, well that one is pretty obvious, a nice place to live and for them. there really aren't too many other people i've ever felt that i've known well enough to say.
