What makes people click?

Someone said recently to me, "We don't have much in common."

Why do you decide keeping in touch with some people as opposed to others?

Necessity? Musical tastes? A specific personality trait? Ideology? Dress? Similar interests?

I get annoyed when people try to establish a connection with me for the wrong reasons.

Before they get a chance to ask what kind of music I like, I'm already discouraged. If they ask me about my background I might give them a chance. And if they ask me if I'm a liberal, I'm usually headed for the door while they're in mid-sentence.

What attracts me to certain people is much more intangible. Share.

 

I never disliked you, but I am certainly beginning to like you.
I have no clue what makes me like people. Generally, I'll attach to people who I find rare qualities in. Other times it's similar interests or thinking patterns or whatnot. (Such as why I'm beginning to like you.)
I always get this feeling that if I met me - I wouldn't like me. I don't think I seem unique enough for me.

In the end, it seems it's all down to luck.

 

I guess chemistry is the main thing. to me it all depends on what the person is like, and how their personality works with mine, but I find that I can relate to most people on some level and if the chemistry is right, that connection might lead to friendship. I avoid talking about politics, religion and anything negative, and if I decide to stay in touch with someone it's because they're cool and there's good chemistry.

 

yeah, chemistry.. and.. I mean I guess similar tastes and interests too, but that becomes a detail if there really is chemistry between people and that just can't be explain..

 

I would also have to add understanding and honesty

 

I really "click" with anyone who has a decent personality... It doesn't matter to me whether or not we have anything in common, I have people who I am really good friends with who are the complete opposite of me, they are great people and that is really all that matters to me. If I decided to not talk to anyone bcause we have nothing in common, then I would probably start missing everybody...

 

Sticking playing cards in the spokes makes me click clickity clickity click..

 

bad drivers and people who dont take responsability fir there actions make me click, hmm maybe that is snap not click

 

You brought up something important. When people say chemistry...

(I'm always trying to describe things in different ways)

I think what we're talking about is thought process and the way folks communicate.

Then there are two other separate issues:

1. whether the person is good for you or satisfies some kind of need

2. whether you share opinioins and tastes in common

In the end I think #2 is pettiest about us. But obviously not everyone thinks the same.

astrology.. duh. seriously though.. i do get along with people of certain signs better than others.. and if your sun sign, moon sign and rising all are compatable with mine.. good times WILL happen!

Yeah, it's some kind of weird chemistry thing. I do have a few dealbreakers - I don't really date people who don't have the same political or religious views as me, and I would never date anyone who was sexist, racist, homophobic...y'know, a hater - but I like having differences with people. It gives us something to talk about!

I click with people who look me right in the eye and smile in that kind of way that says "We have a special connection that no one else knows about." That makes me absolutely weak.

 

I click with lots of people...unless they have a personality flaw that I cannot overlook which does happen upon occasion.

I actually think its an energy that comes off of someone, and a look in the eye that clues me in a lot

and a sense of humor of course, absolutely essential

well.. i'll give you that answer i give folks when it doesn't all match up.. "we'd make great friends"


i'ma virgo sun, cancer moon, scorpio rising... seems all my best friends have been cancers. the 3 greatest loves of my life have all been taurus'... go figure. but i love the pisces folks! and pisces moon folks are offen very sweet..

Yeah, I draw the line somewhere too when it comes to opinions. I guess I was referring mostly to neutral opinions...if it's something personally offensive, then obviously, they get the axe.

 

To me it always comes down to their energy.
