    dictionary def of drug
    drug [drug]
    n (plural drugs)
    1. pharmacology substance given as medicine: a natural or artificial substance that is given to treat, prevent, or diagnose a disease or to lessen pain
(marijuana can be used to treat surtain disease or to lesson pain)
    2. drugs illegal substance: an often illegal and sometimes addictive substance that causes changes in behavior and perception and is taken for the effects
(doesnt alcohol cause changes in behavior and perception, and is used for the effects. also isnt alchohol found to be more addictive than marijuana)
    3. pharmacology medical substance: a substance given to treat or prevent illness as defined in the U.S. Food, Drug, cosmetic act
(marijuana can be used to treat illness)
doesnt this mean that according to the dictionary marijuana should be nomore illigal than alchohol and also can and should be used as a medicinal drug too?
is it possible that marijuana is only illegal beacause it doesnt have to be manufactured. and they cannot make money from it?
my definition of drug is if its been chemically messed with like heroin and cocain etc etc even cigarettes and asprin. but marijuana is purly a herb.

Marijuana was banned back in the 30's due to racism and economics, and it remains illegal to-day mainly due to economics and "classism" (discrimination due to social status i.e. hippie, etc.)
Btw, cocaine and heroin in their raw natural form (coca and opium resp.) as well as cigarettes (tobacco) are addictive, especially the last 2.

Well, I think the biggest reasons are:

    1) It gives jailers, cops and judges a lot of work and
    2) A government doesn't like to admit it was wrong.

outside of the police and schools.. i dont belive that the government actually thinks weed is that bad.. the thing is they cant say one thing for 75 years, then in 2006 just come out and say "weve been lying to you, we are wrong".. whether or not your representitive thinks weed is bad is outside of the question... its whether or not the DEA and other agencies are actually goin to say they are wrong

One more of this reason is that somebody could get stoned.

    Somebody should be shot!
