I dont really box myself in, I just like music. One day I might fancy a little classic country, the next some ganster rap, the next day I may listen to an opera, and maybe some punk the next day. Who knows where my mood will take me Middle eastern music is fun! Deidre, do you think this meditative middle eastern music you mention would be good for a yoga flow? I need music to keep me from being distracted by other sounds during yoga but I also find most music distracting during yoga lol
Mostly hard rock and heavy metal, and by that i mean older groups, although there are a few newer ones i like a lot as well. Stuff like Iron Maiden, KISS, Judas Priest, Rob Zombie, Mudvayne, Nightwish and a lot more. I also like some country when the mood hits me usually when i've had a few beers
I'm not sure what people would call some of the music I like. I guess Alternative 80's and 90's Classic 60's and 70's Jam band Trance/ Psytrance
It is very much varied dependant on my Mood which can be, Mosaic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXNKprZpaKY
This is one of the old local bands that I love. I don't know how to classify their music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFX4er8x58c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Prh5jROA788 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIkyPEvqq4Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDe5GC4d6ZU
Yes, some of the middle eastern ''mystic'' music is great for yoga meditations. Indian music, too. This is what I like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BmaGzwSS_8 I'm amazed by this ^^ practice! Whirling is a form of meditation.
I like this group, too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_GKPFIHqY8&list=PL8TPiGHZkEpS-FnCQ3e4gDvz04nyHOndn&index=2
I like a lot of sufi mysticism type music (like I posted above), even though I don't follow Islam. I like this style too...(it picks up at like the 3:40 minute mark) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-J1hVGzWro&t=21s
60s/70s Psychedelic Acid Rock, 70s Hard Rock, 90s Grunge, 95(?) and later Stoner Rock, and Doom Metal (but not when they growl the vocals.
Sixties Acid Rock, Seventies Hard Rock, Late 70s/ Early 80s Metal, 90s Grunge, and now Stoner Rock/ Doom Metal. and very little Country, mainly 70s. Oh and don't forget 70s Motown Music, very important.
i am very much into country at the moment, but not keith urban shit or anything, that's all fluff. I realy like undegrounf country, or the outlaw country. rough, rugged unpolished stuff. at the moment i enjoy listening to Waylon Jennings, i think this is the coolest dude ever Steve Earle, cool back in late 80s Chris Knight, all round awesome The Highwaymen, all round aweomse Johnny Cash, though a lot of it is shit then i also like the bluegrass and irish folk hell just gimmie anything with a fiddle or violin, i love that stuff.
But when Cash did a good one, it was good!... Here's an early photo you'll like when he was a rocker (early years)
