looks like you'd need at least a GED...here's a link with all sorts of info. for home schooling in Tennessee... http://www.homeschoolingrequirements.com/TN.htm Hope it has the info you need.. Good luck!
Here in England the only qualification you need to home educate your kids is a reasonable level of intelligence, an open mind, and a willingness to learn with them
i don't think there are any requirements in Missouri, except parenthood, lol. If you're smart enough to raise a child, you're smart enough to homeschool
I just want to encourage you that you will do fine! Just read a lot of different books about homeschooling, and then you can come up with how you want to go about it. I homeschool my kids, along with some of my friends, and none of us have our highschool diploma or any sort of "higher" education. Just read, read, read, especially now, while you have time! All of my kids have learned to read by the time they are 4, and they are very happy and well adjusted, and are learning the truth about things going on in the world! It's great to have control over what your kids are hearing and absorbing, and also they don't have to learn the other garbage that comes along with public school like competition, being judgemental, closeminded, etc. Have fun!
hi Willow, Welcome to the wonderful world of twins (mine are 12) and to soon-to-be-homeschooling! Depending on what state you live in, you may not have to meet any qualifications at all to be a homeschool teacher. Some state rules are strickter than others. Here in NE, its very lenient. Just go to your state dept. of education website, I'm sure you'll find the qualifications and homeschool laws there. good luck to you and your little ones! Blessings, Bee
It is all going to depend on the state - in Arkansas there is no requirement other than that the child take a test every year - but you need to go to the department of education web site for what ever state you are in and get the info that is right for your area.
Here's a link that will determine the rules for the state you live in. http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp
