I work in catering and we can't give the leftover food to homeless shelters unless we make arrangements before hand. Here is the kicker, we never know how much we are going to have left over but they want to know how much they are getting because they will not come for less than a specific amount. It's nuts.

 

its obviously a stupid law, but the reason for it is to try and help the homeless. feeding them isnt going to help them get back on their feet. a percentage are just drunks and druggies.
