what is the difference between like and love?

sorry my ignorance, but I'm french

and I absolutly adore the concept in english of like and love

right now I really like that girl,we are both interest in each other

is it right to tell her that I like her, but to love her I have to know her better, or liking a person is more like for friends?

 

Like can be either, it just depends how you mean it, friends, or interested...

Like can be like a weaker version of love, or saying you're interested, but not in love yet or so... Though like and love can both be more like describing friends... It all depends on how you mean it...

 

I would say like is either you want to just be friends or you're interested in getting to know them to find out if you love them, and love is then a stronger bond, not just physical, but mental/spiritual. But then there's also brotherly love, I.E. I don't have to know you or have ever heard of you to love you.

 

love cannot easily be defined so you can't really get an easy answer. when you are in love you know it's love but you can't really explain it.

Hmm... the difference between like and love is that if you have to ask, you'll never know. You just get a sense of feeling. Sometimes you don't notice it and you're in denial of wether you love someone or are unsure of what the other person thinks which makes you in denial. I was like that at first.

 

If you don't yet know the difference between love and like then you have never experienced love....
