I was asked what evil is? I think a lot of things are evil but does that make the person pure evil.I think people act evil and do evil things. I know plenty of people who may not agree on what I may think is wrong or evil. I also know people have been framed of doing evil when they had been set up or had been lied about doing something they didn't do they may have wronged people but it got out of control and made a lot worse then the person was. Plenty of people are in prison for crimes they didn't commit while many criminals are on the street.
Evil as I understand it in the context of Western Philosophy is cognizant and intentful harm to others. The severity of evil is usually weighed in relation to the value being suppressed and the volume at which it occurs. For instance, Murder is going to be viewed as more evil than petty theft and serial killers are likely going to be viewed as more evil than someone who commits one murder. However, with this broad definition, I agree that evil can be subjective and it varies amongst cultures. So I think the concept of evil develops out of culture rather than a Platonic truth of the world.
I believe that good and evil are universal precepts and as societies become more enlightened they will all share similar notions in common. Evil is simply the lowest form of human behavior. Some cultures may not have a problem with murder, but it's because they're very low on the totem pole of enlightenment. Their actions are still evil, because they're lowly. Evil itself is inborn, and people who are rotten to the core truly do exist. They have no other intent than to control and subjugate others. All too often people fall into the trap of trying to see the good in such people, and wind up in a never-ending cycle of abuse. These people are guileless and naive. They can't fathom that something exists that does not exist within themselves and make up excuses for others' poor behavior, sometimes to the extent that they come to believe that they are the problem themselves.
You could say that an evil person is someone who feels themselves to be so separate and disconnected from the rest of life on the planet that every thing and every one is expendable in the pursuit of satisfaction. It's a mental condition, really.
Well considering that I've recently found myself returning to a Christian belief system I'd say the Christian God.
What about the Jewish God? I am still learning about Judaism and have a lot to learn on my journey to Judaism at a convert.
There are three types of evil. Criminal evil. Insane evil and the evil of innocense Lock me up in a jail cell I can still pull my dick, rape a chair and start right on a bed a nails I gotta little case of road rage Sawed off shotgun, 12 gauge, trying to make the front page A little S&M, a little duct tape A lotta date rape, dead bitch, wooden crate Necrophilia, and then I Bury ya The most dead body serial Killa in america I know you know my Name I know you know my game I'm standing outside your window in the acid rain I'm shooting bitches like heroin Out my double barrel like an injection And I fuck a bitch without protection Because ehhh I wanna get her pregnant I wanna hurt and kill it I wanna make her eat the afterbirth till she can feel it Conceive it, delete it And make the bitch eat it I'm still on the prozak bitch you best believe it!
I think the Prozak version sounds better. This was Bedlam, who had Prozak but I think he remastered under another cd. Now he's all political in his songs. Dont mind me, I listen to a lot of deplorable stuff. I like the second guys verse, Madness, like it's not as disturbing as the first verse but his vocals are freaky.
The only fundamental difference between the idea of God according to the Jews & the idea according to Christians is Jesus
Technically speaking they are all the same God but theologically speaking there are vast differences. On the one hand you have the Jewish God/Islamic Allah who could be described as a God of works. In other words you work your way into His afterlife by following His laws & precepts. This is in direct opposition to the teachings of Christ which emphasizes the power of grace & grace alone granting passage into heaven.
Even good people do evil things and sometimes they don't even realizing what they're doing IS evil at all. My definition of evil is when someone loves evil rather that does evil things unknowingly, or even knowingly but is too weak to stop themselves.
