and exctly who the hell defines it?Don't get me wrong,as an avid outdoorsman,I have environmental concerns, but who says what's right or wrong?I recycle all my cans, burn paper trash, raise a garden,& the meat we get is all raised local unless I catch or kill it myself.I'm too poor to afford to afford anything except an old gas guzzler pick up that would NEVER pass an emissions test, but Im sure it can't be as hard on fuel as Al Gore's private jet,or what it takes to heat his mansion.I try to reduce ,reuse & recycle as much as possible.but for real, who decides what is "green" & what isnt,& at what point does it go from being practical,to downright ridiculous?
Its just an idea, and it comes down to common sense. Don't ask what is green, just try to decide that for yourself and see what you come up with. If you feel like you are helping the planet or any part of it then it is probably green
There are many different definitions to 'being green', depending on who you ask. One of the best answers as far as I'm concerned is, choosing to act in a manner that is sustainable over the long term (1000's of years). Or, more simply, leave the planet a better place for having been your home.
right on.you both hit the nail on the head of what I was looking for, rather than a lot of kook nonsense. The point I was trying to make,is,ok we all gotta be here together right?I hunt & fish to help feed my family.some may say that's wrong, thats fine, their entitled to their opinon. My truck aint had a muffler in God knows how long, but I can't afford to fix it.You both got it tho, even tho I was trying to be a smartass. The Bible says we are all to be stewards of the earth..But,the other point,y'all hit,was the other I was trying to make..Do we use our own conscience(sp?)for what's right,or do we want a government that wants to do it for us?personally,I prefer the former. Here in Missouri we have one of the best conservation departments I have ever seen, yet some of the fewest restrictions.I've also seen million dollar homes torn down just to put up a 4 million dollar home.& these yuppie fucks think they are being "green",just because they hired me to sell & remove windows, doors, fixtures, that kinda shit.granted,it's helped me fix this old shack up a little, but you get my point.sorry to rant..I'm just drunk & aggravated with our whole country & trying to figure out when the hell we lost our grit
LOL on green being just a color. Anyway, what's green shouldn't be limited to what we feel is helping the earth, rather to substantial efforts and policies that help make the world a better place.
 Sorry but, I've "given out too much Reputation in the last 24 hours, try again later." =( I feel green is putting an importance on and taking action to treat the environment well. I don't litter and I recycle and all that, but I wouldn't consider myself green, cause I don't really make it very important. You sound green to me though =)
technology can do an amazing amount of harm, but it is also in many many instances amazingly easy for it not to. what is utterly appalling is the frequency of expression of disinterest in it not doing so. everything we take for granted comes from the combination of nature and technology. it is no more then an engineering problem to make them ever more optimally compatible. the only missing piece is the combination of incentives to pursue this most rewarding of all possible sentient challenges. capitolism does not provide those incentives. most cultures, ideologies and beliefs don't either. yet there is nothing i can imagine more vital to the future of the human species and to all of life on planet earth.
nobody knows, and apparently the general public doesn't give a fuck. but i digress...i'd say green is anything that lowers a negative impact or has a positive impact on the environment. don't take my word for it though...
It's sad that, currently, the public don't care as much as they should, but it's nice to hear that it's steadily changing.
green is going on tv telling everyone the shape of your fucking light bulb, how your new location is eco friendly, and going green . Then building a 1 million watt radar.. talk about stupidity.. fuck green!!!! bring on more white stuff!!!
white stuff?I like that idea!!I aint done drugs in like a year and a half, but I'd be down with some portable snortable!lol
