I have been to Florida 3 times in the past (the first time in 2000 and the last time in 2008). My husband and I are thinking about moving to Florida (he used to live there) and we were thinking of Clearwater, Florida (he likes it there). I have been there, 1 time, my first time in Florida, but we never stopped there or anything. So, can anyone give me more information about the Clearwater area? What are the fun things to do there? Are the bars/clubs there good there too? And are jobs pretty good there? Thanks.
I lived in Tarpon Springs for a while, which is just north of Clearwater. We used to drive down to Clearwater to a food co-op and it seemed about like any other place. Tarpon Springs, on the other hand, was a cool place to live with the boat building, the Greek night clubs , the sponge divers and the general terrain. A boat would be nice to have in Florida because of all the waterways. Anyway, good luck.
The area is nice if you like sunshine, beaches and like to hang outdoors alot.:sunny: Tampa is 20-30 minutes away with a ton of restaurants, clubs and bars; lotsa of concerts on a regular basis.:guitarist: Cops & crackheads are going to be anywhere and it's no different in Clearwater. I'm in Orlando but go there regularly and used to attend school there in the 80's. (St. Pete has gotten a major architectural facelift and is also very nice.) Good luck on your move.:smoking:
Clearwater is a really nice area but at the same time it is filled wit a ton of pharmacutical drugs (tons of oxys). i like my pyscedelics and cannabis and accasional xanax or kpin or valium depending on whats around at the time. Beach is beautiful and the women are too cops are dirty the P.D but where are they honest now a days?
Tampa (Clearwater included) is right behind Jacksonville in the biggest shithole cities in Florida. Tampa is boring and has a lot of rednecks for some reason. Miami and Ft Lauderdale are really the only places worth a damn in this state, IMO.
A barrier island off mainland Dunedin, Florida, and one of the few completely natural islands along the Gulf Coast. Quiet, secluded, and still wild, is one of the best shelling beaches on the Gulf Coast. There is abundant birdlife, and if you're lucky, you might see a gopher tortoise or a rattlesnake. There is no 50-amp service at the marina and gensets must be turned off at 10 p.m. nightly. So bring a splitter if you plan to stay overnight.
Went to Clearwater and St. Pete yesterday; hung out all day at the beach. It was like a summer day...in February.:sunny: Doubled back through Tampa and to the Hard Rock Hotel. Drove to the top level of the parking garage and got REALLY high.:smoking: Then, went down to the casino where I drank too much and lost about $200.:cheers2: All in all, a pretty nice day in the Tampa area once again.:2thumbsup:
We do have a number of rednecks but we have some beautiful beaches out here in Clearwater esp honeymoon island, not to mention the weather is always so nice
im in Tarpon, north of Clw Whoever said these are the shithole cities... some might think that there are scumbags.. but you see what you allow yourself to see. I delve in the dirt a little bit... but overall pinellas is a very nice area.. if yur into drugs though its a little overabunding here..
