What if more people joined the Peace Corp. and less joined the Marine Corp.? What if we dropped food and water upon our enemies instead of bullets and bombs? What if we sent contractors to build homes in foreign lands instead of weapons? What if we shipped clothes and toys to all the children of the world instead of billions of dollars of weapons to foreign "allies"? What if we smiled at everyone we met? What if we helped anyone who needed it at anytime? What if we visited the jails every week and just listened? What if we hugged our children and read to them every day instead of sending them to their rooms to play video games? What if we gave our children our attention more than toys or gadgets? What if we wept again at funerals? ******************************* If you smile at me, I will understand. Because that is something everybody, everwhere does in the same language.
you know someone that doesn't cry at funerals? man, i'm freakiing ridiculous. i don't even have to know or like the person. it was always my dream, growing up as a navy brat, to join the peace corps. i might still, when my children are grown. i'll just have to think of a useful skill. since i was 6 i thought, "now THERE'S the job for me." then in high school the army comes along as says "you wanna be a sniper?" pfft.
No, I haven't feed the poor of the world. I have given and I could still do good to give a little more. We all could. That's the whole point. It's not a sermon, it's just good advice for everyone.
I liked reading this , good things to think about, however I dont cry at funerals, I dont see death the way most people do, so it doesnt affect me in the same way and I dont see why crying in them would make any difference or be a positive thing, but I understand what you by it.
i don't see death as tragic, i see it as painful for people who've lost someone they loved. i don't cry for the departed, i cry for those left behind.
What if more people joined the Peace Corp. and less joined the Marine Corp.? THERE WOULD BE A DRAFT What if we dropped food and water upon our enemies instead of bullets and bombs?THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA SO LONG AS THEY DIDN'T GET HIT IN THE HEAD What if we sent contractors to build homes in foreign lands instead of weapons?SUBURBAN SPRWL WOULD COVER THE PLANET What if we shipped clothes and toys to all the children of the world instead of billions of dollars of weapons to foreign "allies"?WE WOULD IMPROVE THE ECONOMY OF CHINA WHERE ALL THE CLOTHES AND TOYS ARE MADE What if we smiled at everyone we met?MANY MORE GAY GUYS WOULD THINK THEY HAD A CHANCE WITH ME, BUT A GOOD PLAN What if we helped anyone who needed it at anytime?WOULD BE VERY CHRISTIANLIKE What if we visited the jails every week and just listened?WE WOULD HEAR LOTS OF SWEAR WORDS What if we hugged our children and read to them every day instead of sending them to their rooms to play video games?I AM FOR ANYTHING THAT DECREASES VIDEO GAMING What if we gave our children our attention more than toys or gadgets?I DON'T KNOW, NOT A KID FAN What if we wept again at funerals?I HAVE WEPT SEVERAL TIMES AT FUNERALS *******************************
Those are some great answers. I'm glad that Gary cleared this dilemma out for us. We can now move on to better things.
libertine you are a wise man, now lead us to a better world, cause it takes one person to start a revolution, be the revolution
What if we shipped clothes and toys to all the children of the world instead of billions of dollars of weapons to foreign "allies"? because who do you think make the toys and clothes, children of the world do... What if we helped anyone who needed it at anytime? Because sometimes people need to learn how to help themselves if they have problems or difficult times, that's how we grow as people... What if we visited the jails every week and just listened? I know there are people in jail that don't deserve to be there, but there are some that do and that whole "feel sorry for people who are molesters, killers, rapists" just doesn't cut it for me...And if I wanted to hear someone whine and complain, I'd watch Lifetime... What if we wept again at funerals? So people don't cry at funerals anymore? That's news to me...
What if more people joined the Peace Corp. and less joined the Marine Corp.? well my sister is thinking about joining the peace corp. but you have to have some skills, which shes working on. (like nursing skills etc) What if we smiled at everyone we met? i can say i do that! always. What if we helped anyone who needed it at anytime? i do that too. no matter how wierd the problem is, What if we visited the jails every week and just listened? ive been to jail a few times, after the last, i dont plan on going ever again What if we hugged our children and read to them every day instead of sending them to their rooms to play video games? everyone should do that! there hasnt been a day that went by without a hug and kiss. not one. we read to him. he reads to us. What if we gave our children our attention more than toys or gadgets? i like to play with him. and build really cool towns for his webbles and cars. i started turning a room into an all ball pit room. it was really really cool. What if we wept again at funerals? only went to one, a good friend of mine killed himself, wept at EVERYTHING. ******************************* In the words of Peter Griffin from Family Guy.... Joe Swanson: Peter, it's over. Peter Griffin: Over? What are you talking about? What kind of talk is that? It's un-American. Did George W. Bush quit even after losing the popular vote? No! Did he quit after losing millions of dollars of his father's money in failed oil companies? No! Did he quit after knocking that girl up? No! Did he quit after he got that DUI? No! Did he quit after he got busted for drunk and disorderly conduct at a football game? No! Did he quit... Joe Swanson: I get the message, Peter. SO I SAY.. What if Bush was never president??? Also, yes, ppl should pay more attention to thier kids, i hope they are. You bring them into the world, and its your job to teach them and show them how to be a good person. and not a little asshole!
