What if we're not really here? What if we're really part of someone else's dream? What if there really isn't an afterlife, we just stay dead? What's the point of us doing anything if all this is true? What if we're all truly alone? How come the only person who really knows what's going on in my mind is me? Why is everyone staring at me?
What if we're not really here? define here? What if we're really part of someone else's dream? we are...im apart of yours, as your apart of mine What if there really isn't an afterlife, we just stay dead? then i guess it wouldnt really matter when the time came lol What's the point of us doing anything if all this is true? what would be the point of doing nothing? What if we're all truly alone? wouldnt that be a trip... How come the only person who really knows what's going on in my mind is me? because your conciousness is all you know...therefore your conciousness is all that exists. Why is everyone staring at me? *says nothing, and continues staring*
Zackley!!!! How you feel's what makes it real. (If I don't exist there's a lot of things written on bathroom walls that suddenly make no sense.)
Then we possess a level of freedom that is more vast than we can ever comprehend. Have you checked to make sure you don't have spinach caught in your teeth or something?
You know what i think, i think sometimes whatever i cant see with my vision, isnt there and you guys are all just made up for me to live, prove otherwise. maybe the world does revolve around me, and everything is based on what i do or think, OR i'm a nut.
well then ill be the first to admit, im just a character in the play....anyone else want to end this sharade and let ragerock in?
"What if we're not really here?" what is here? i cannot gaurantee you are "here" but i will gaurantee that you are atleast some where! "What if we're really part of someone else's dream?" then that person is god and s/he has created us but we still (more importantly you) exist "What if there really isn't an afterlife, we just stay dead?" is that really a question? "What's the point of us doing anything if all this is true?" there is no point... feel free to stop at anytime "What if we're all truly alone?" i think when you step back you realize that we are all truly alone "How come the only person who really knows what's going on in my mind is me?" because others cannot analyze your thought processes "Why is everyone staring at me?" because you are staring at everyone (because your worried they are all staring at you) i think therefore i am... the very process of doubting you exist is a form of existance! i must go now the simpsons are on!
Whether or not we are "part of somebodys dream" or an "illusion" or whatnot is 100% unimportant. Whatever we are we are here and exist, but that is obvious. We couldn't have this forum if we didn't exist. Could we be a dream? Sure, why not? But that would not mean that we didn't exist but merely that or existence was very different from that which we previously believed. It is possible that the essential nature of our existence is significantly different from what is generally believed, but this would change nothing. Regardless of what we are, we behave how we behave. So lets says that we find out tommorrow that we are a figment of someone's imagination. So what then, would we all say "oh crap I don't exist" and then lie down on the floor like vegetables and not move or speak?
Those are nearly nihilistic thoughts.. What if we dont exist? That will get you thinking on alot of things. Nihilistic thoughts, religious thoughts, all of that jive. what about our consciousness? all the whys, hows start coming. A looping question. as for the rest, they keep that question from being nihilist.
Life really is a dream. Sometimes I have a lot of trouble distinguishing what is real from what is just going on in my imagination. Maybe I am a figment of someone else's imagination. That's good enough for me, because at least I FEEL real. Isn't that all that matters anyway? I used to ask my dad, "How do you know someone else isn't just imagining us? How do I know I'm not just imagining myself?" Then he said, "I'm the one who used the psychedelic drugs, not you!" Well... the way I see it.... you don't need drugs to be weird. Anyway, if I'm asking those questions WITHOUT using psychedelics then what would I be asking if I ever decided to use them? All that really matters to me is that things ARE happening whether it is an illusion or real.... and it's all for a reason, even if that reason is being imagined too. Everything is in the head. Otherwise none of us would die. Like my husband for example.... he has so much confidence, he believes he can do just about anything. He has lived through a TERRIBLE car accident (meaning he was thrown out of a truck at 80mph and landed 250 yards from where he was thrown) as well as having two strokes in one day. If he had thought "I'm gonna die" would he have died? Probably.... especially if his subconscious was telling him to allow himself to die. But his subconscious tells him to keep going.... and one day something significant is going to happen to him.
Life is an illusion. I'm sorry, but that's the truth. It can stop any minute, any minute at all. There is really no straightforward answer; just to deall with it. Myself, I have stayed up late at night pondering that. You can continue to search for an answer, and if you find it, please tell me. Haha!
