waht would happen if some smallish country (or any country really but more likely with smaller/less in the world scene) decided to fuck the american-pioneered drug war and convert all of their low-yielding crops to hemp farms and made a huge industry around hemp, selling all of the great products that come from it to teh rest of the world? of course not selling actual weed to the world but just all the products that come FROM it? how would america or the big companies thwart it? are they allowed to attack anotehr country for growing drugs? would they get away with it? i mean, theres so many countries, many with nothing to claima s their own except their land... if just one country began a hemp revolution then imagine what other countries would do if the plan went through and they managed to export all of the incredible benefits of hemp and make TONNES of money as well as precedent the legalisation of weed, but more importantly the SAVING OF OUR FUCKING PLANET!! so yeh wheres the flaw if a country tried this? thats not rhetoric caus really, theres hewaps of third-world countris whod become first-world in like a decade if they did it (wihtout gettin fucked on)
It's a great idea, but America would interfere somehow. This country is so money and power hungry that they would find a way to control it.
Yea i suspect that we will find a way to invade the country with a shitty excuse like "Weapons of Mass Destruction" or "terrorists hiding in the country". But im sure it will be a good place for terrorists to go to. The country will probably fall apart if its not established correctly, and i dont think it will be stable. But hell..im sure its possible but not probable.
America can do whatever it wants, they police the world like its their own personal play-pen. The American public doesn't care ..as long as the president cooks up some lame excuse for war, everyone's all about it. I'd definately move to the hemp-country tho.
that's not true. I'm part of the American public and I care a lot. It sickens me to see how corrupt our nation has become and how everything is ruled with money and power. Not all Americans are like this. A huge percent have been working as hard as possible to bring change to our society.
We wouldn't have to invade. We'd say theyre violating international treaty, and everyone would boycott them. Economic sanctions, no one would trade with them, or buy their hemp. Money talks, and American and European nations have it, and all support the ban. America's political and economic clout by itself would probably be enough to persuede other countries not to trade with them. Then there'd be the propogandists drumming up fears of drug cultures, another "Colombia" situation, or whatever. Sad but true, this would never happen.
ummm... hemp's legal to grow/export in alot of countries..... soo.... i'd think that if a country changed to an all-hemp economy they'd go down the tubes like any other country that relies on one product to prop up their entire industry.... lookit bangladesh and jute for chrissakes... But the united states wouldn't do shit, otherwise we'd have invaded canada long ago.
i dunno... mass media propaganda is very effective. As hipforums members i expect you to know this. It would definately benefit the country's internal economics but not the civilized world. Even the Netherlands, a powerful nation, has a hard time dealing with USAs (and the pussies, like france or germany govts) pressures.
you beat me to it =) my thoughts exactly, and I'd think nearly every American in this forum's too. Isn't hip forums a beautiful thing?
"...doesn't care?"The common American person doesn't know... is blinded from seeing... it's not that we don't care... We are trained, unfortunately, through our cultural heritage and schooling/media to persue and become part of a lifestyle (what a culture generally shares) that happens to be a very very very destructive one, to the earth AND to our spirits. It is true, that American's hear the words "...THE END OF THE WORLD..." and yet it doesn't strike the DEEPEST, CRAZIEST thoughts that you'd think it should provoke =P We hear it so often, it's become part of the culture... So in a way, we know we're destructive, yet we don't... Now to say "we", of course not every American... There are many many many that have seen the destructiveness of our way of life, and have went on to their own paths, living more in harmony with a way of life they subjectively feel is right... The right images are going to come into perspective for the rest of Americans soon oneday SOON... "but howwww?!" Truly though, and unfortunately, the wrong images are becoming more and more popular, and are taking over the world! effecting and changing learnt assumptions and worldviews, and inevitably ways of life... It shouldn't be "Eyes on America for this hanus crime of destroying mother earth!", but it should be "SHAME ON DESTROYING MOTHER EARTH!"
As long as Democrats & Republicans (the same old mob) are in power, America will always fuck it up some.
if everyone in the world gave me 15 dollars i would buy a small country and just grow weed so start sendin it people hurry hurry before time runs out!
er some people have inferred that this sort of thing is happening? hemp is grown for like.. a few small paper shipments and alternative fibres. but no country has a substantial hemp economy for actual economic basis. like say australia has a beef industry for example. well no country has a hemp industry. there might be 'hemp growing industry' but not an actual hemp-industry. you know what i mean? i mean its not like its some wierd industry thats for silly people who wanna get high. its more economical than any other resource in the world, just not more than all of the competing industries combines, obviously, since it covers such a wide range of things. This proposition is for countries who have a shit economy. a thrid world country cant go further into the.. earth. once you get down to the dirt all you can do is grow out of it again lol. but the whole point is that if a country established the industry first for all their internal needs that theyd normally struggle with, they can fix themselves with hemp first, and then start exporting. i really dont think the majority of people really understood the idea past the "hemp nation" bit, does anyone actually know of any precedents?
you recon you could get me a source on that, geckopelli? i cant seem to hone google in. i suck at google
Not specifically. Maybe if you go to the CIA web site you can find archived reports. Otherwise, I'd suggest looking though the archives of Time, Newsweek, the miami herald, etc. Or you might look into Noriega's Panama.
