..is why our society puts such a high premium on being thin and then complains when girls stick their fingers down their throats. edit- it was rhetorical, guys.. i was just trying to calm my demons..
Touche (with an accent). And screw it, who cares? As long as you stay away from either extreme, it shouldn't be a problem.
what pisses me off even more is when people say they don't care about body shape and all that, yet as the short pudgy girl I almost never get hit on. Online yeah, when they see just my face for sure, but when they see all of me (and I'm only like 30lbs overweight) I get pretty much no compliments or getting hit on. Fucking liars
That is very true. I find it funny. I mean they give makeovers and Dr. Phil on the same station. He he, stupid media.
what i find excrutiatinly annoying, is that in all those fashion and gossip magazenes and stuff, they tell you how to be yourself, and dont let anyone change etc etc. then in the next edition they write a 2 page article on how to become popular
I have the same problem. Though, I've found out that if you look like Jesus - people will usually comment on that, rather than talking about how skinny you are. Just a tip. First off, who cares? Yes, society places these burdens on women, but you have to put that aside. You're beautiful, and you don't need a magazine to tell you that. Second, the problem is that we're focused on so much trivial bullshit. It doesn't matter what you look like. What matters is the strength of your character. Beauty fades, but unchecked ignorance can last a lifetime. You don't know how often I meet a "pretty" gal, only to find out that she's about as "sharp" as terrycloth. Fucking brilliant.
Scoiety is full of conradictions. This is just one of the many. You are expected to be good looking, make lots of money, talk to those from your social class and serve those above you. Your not allowed to have spots, you cant be poor and your beliefs should fall into one of a few catogories that have been presented as the only categories. If everyone conformed to what the perfect person shoujld be, society would collapse. It is our job to reject the image projected onto us, and to stand up for the normal person, and to show that very few caqn live like people in magazines, and that it shouldnt be desierable to be ultra thin etc...
Why is it people complain about something, when said thing is simple enough to not pay attention to? In other words.. Yay for 'society', but who gives a fuck?
You know whats really cool about these culturally accepted ideas of what is beautiful? More "truly" beautiful girls for guys like me! Because most other guys would rather go after braindead and heartless Paris Hilton look alikes.
exactly! all these fuckin diets, its like, for christs sake, it doesnt take a genious to work out that you just cut down on what you eat a little, avoid foods with high fat content, and getting the fuck outside will do the trick!
