I was inspired by another thread "What Jesus did for me". I know not everyone believes in Jesus but I would like to know what do you believe and what has your religion done for you?
Why do you feel singled out and ridiculed by Christians? I'm a Christian. Do you feel like I single you out and ridicule you?
no, I'm talking about growing up Jewish....you get ridiculed by the masses who are on the Christian bandwagon, you hear jokes about the holocaust, people thinking you are going to hell, people ripping on your entire background. People may not think jews are a minority, but unless you grow up in Brooklyn, or parts of Los Angeles and Chicago, you will know for a fact that it is. Funny thing is, you never really see that kind of abuse going the other way. Christainity is an overbearing, aggressive religion half my family is Jewish, half Christian, I prefer to be agnostic, but one of the religions is welcoming and low key, the other is not.
aw, that sucks. i'm overbearing and aggressive, but not as a christian. it's kinda my better aspect, honestly.
i think jews bring it upon themselves...at least the orthodox jews. youre a very clicky religion after all. you call yourselves the Chosen Ones, and expect other religions to tolerate that.
did I say I was an orthdox jew, no I've now read that jews bring it on themsleves and that blacks have not contributed to American history from you. Even little kids riding the bus deserve to be ripped on for their religion that they were brought up in? I never said anything about being a chosen one or whatever....your colors are showing already. been to any clan meetings lately? even me mentioning being raised jewish here brings on comments like this, see what I mean.
Its not that I am against Christianity either, its just when people like this colors guy spout off a bunch of shit like this, and then claim to be of ANY religion I find it offensive.
Colours I'm not trying to single you out however You didn't answer the question. No one has to agree with each other's Religion. I didn't make this thread to start a fight. I didn't answer my own question either. My Religion or I should say beliefs has helped me become a better person, wife, and mother. It's helped me learn how to deal with issues like anger and resentment. I can see beauty where others may not. I am a Christian however I do not go to church. I do not read my Bible all the time, or hardly ever. I do pray though. I do thank God for all that I feel He has done for me and my family. I know I would not be where I am today and have all that I have if I had not openend my mind and my heart to God. All that said that is what has worked for me. If people have something else that has worked for them I'd be interested in hearing about it.
Thats exactly what many people do KC...they use their alleged religion to feel superior. and nudity is part of my personal religion. so no problem there. Eating 16 year olds after grilling them on the barbeque is also holy to me.
WOW! me too!! do you use the holy biblical briquettes? i find they don't burn so good. maybe the friction from the naked bodies will get the grill going. if not, we've got the holy communal lighter fluid.
