Dude I know that feeling about Skyrim. I played the opening so much in an attempt to start a whole new playthrough but I always stagnate because I did it all already and don't feel like doing the same again. This is of course especially the case in the beginning when you still have to start everything up again (going through the same things). But I enjoyed the shit out of that game so I sometimes feel like making a new character and take a new approach to this game. Maybe wait like another half year Did you play Fallout 3 also? Or just New vegas?
Both. I liked 3 very slightly better but maybe because it was all new to me when I played it. Maybe because there is a lot of open area you have to walk in the desert.
Skyrim is the only RPG i havent restarted at least ten times lol. I just kept my same character ThorgÄrd.
I kept a real early savegame so I could restart with the same character as well. But after like 10 times I wanted to take a different approach, as in no human warrior anymore but elfish mage/wizard. In fact I recall Koryssa describing on here which tactics she used to buil a strong magic wielding character and thought I'd go at it like that. Same reason every time? Was it the analogue stick? Or do you throw them around in anger
i've never done a warrior character in any elder scrolls game. i always do a stealth character on my first playthrough, and a mage on the second. morrowind is the only one i've done more than twice, and i just go back and forth between those two types every time. playing as a combat specialist just never really appeals to me, as far as gameplay goes. it's a shame, because i never really get to experience those questlines (never joined house redoran for example). i went through a lot of controllers for my ps2 due to this. i had to calm down by the time i got ps3 though; those controllers are too expensive. the games are generally not as frustrating as they used to be anyway.
I've never had to replace a controller before. However I may have to replace my PS4 controller sometime soon, the rubber on the analogue sticks are peeling off, I guess this has been a common issue with them.
It is mine started wearing out after a few weeks. But I never replaced it the sticks are plastic now and work fine.
Same problem. Left analog stick seems to break you can hear pieces floating around in there and then that joystick seems to have a mind of its own.
I never had to replace a controller either. But on my 360 ones I can notice the analogue sticks are getting a bit looser. Those ps3 controllers sucked as well. Too tiny. Couldn't get used to it when I was mostly on the 360 for the life of it. It was one of the reasons I didn't even consider getting a ps3. 360 ruled where it comes to the controllers. I am very glad the ps4 has a much better one! I guess my character has a little bit of everything on my first playthrough, but it mostly goes in the warrior direction at first because my initial response to deal with close up attacks (esp in the beginning) from animals and bandits etc. is to start swinging my sword But yeah I sneak a lot too when exploring new places. Magic I have to think about how to use it so it is usually not my first focus But even when I'm not choosing for a magic focussed character I always invest in being able to throw a good fireball!
i used to do more well rounded characters, but lately i've been focusing more on becoming really great at one specialization. i think it probably started with oblivion, because the stupid enemy leveling system meant that if you leveled skills in multiple areas the enemies would end up way stronger than you. i actually had to abandon my first character because he had focused on both combat and stealth and by about level 10 or so, none of his skills were high enough to do anything against the enemies. that was the only time i had any sort of a combat based character. but ever since then, i've shifted toward specialization in all RPGs. especially in JRPGs, i used to choose equipment and attribute bonuses that would supplement characters' weaknesses, but more recently i prefer to ignore their weaknesses and do everything i can to increase their strengths (although i haven't actually played a JRPG in a few years). i will admit, i'm currently playing a high level mage in morrowind, and i've started teaching him some combat just because my mage skills and attributes are largely maxed out and i want him to continue growing where possible.
My characters are always warrior and then they can't do magick very well. So I buy all these awesome spells and can never use them. I got really into Oblivion one time, spent months just fucking around and then when I realized I'd never be able to perform magick I restarted... And then I was like man fuck that, I ain't doing all that again. I ain't seeing Joffrey at the church for the tenth time.
Morrowind. Back to my same ol' used to be. I've got all these games for PC and can't play them. Lucky for me, Bethesda games are a never ending battle for my spare time!!
morrowind, i remember i had bought an nvidia geforce 3 with 64mb of VRAM and one pixel and one vertex shader...and i was showing off the water with the vertex and pixel shaders enabled to a rich friend and he was like "holy fuck this looks so good, im jealous  "
^ Haha I have a similar memory showing the original Morrowind off because the graphics were so top notch They really were at the time.
Started up Drake's deception last night. Beautiful beginning (that market!) Not done yet with 1 and 2 but got stuck in some intense action and felt like taking a break :sifone: I'm now so far with the first Uncharted that the remarks about the Tomb raider reboot taking over all the good things makes even more sense (they already did). But hey Uncharted took a lot of inspiration from the old Tomb raider games and it is well done so it is not really an unfortunate thing.
I'm actually playing Morrowind off and on on Xbox. With mods! It's fricken AMAZEBALLS with better heads, better bodies and the Xbox visual pack. Though, it does tend to crash a LOT more, especially if you don't save very often. Which you have to do manually since there's virtually no auto-save function. And without saving often, the amount of space the saves start to take up is ridiculous. There's some fix out there, but you have to upload the save to PC, use a bunch of PC Tools to 'fix' the save blah blah blah. Why do I always get myself into such complications... It's funny, every time I tell someone I'm playing Xbox, they go "Last time I saw your 360, the faceplate was off, the DVD drive was all jankety, you were about to throw it in the trash... Did you get an Xbox One?" fk no! I'm oldschool baby!
You can still use new mods on the first xbox? That's great! Can't you save over an older savegame and so make use of like only 2 or 3 savegames (instead of saving in a new slot every time)?
