What Famous Person Are You Related To?

Greetings All,

What famous person living or dead are you related to?

As I understand from my family I am related to five presidents, although I can only remember a few. John Adams and John Quincy Adams, John Taylor and Jefferson Davis. I forgot who the last one was.

Feel free to let us know how close to fame you are.

 

I am related to Robert E. Lee, the seminole leader Oscola,and my son is related to President Harding. Pretty cool.

My great great great great... great great great (you get the idea) grandfather signed the declaration of independence. I think his name was Thomas Heward or somthing

on the other side of the family, geneological evidence is unclear but hints at a direct blood line from william wallace....very unclear, but its been speculated

for sure on that side my great-something grandfather was samuel de champlains enterpreter, a mohowk indian (mohawks were part of the iroquois nations)

My granpa is a geologist and he found out that my family is related to abraham lincoln

 

my dad once tried to convince me we were related to william wallace, but i'm not really sure so i never say anything about it. but just in case..

apparently, my dads side is descendent of alexander the great as well.

and my grandma on my moms side swears that one of our great something grandmas had a child out of wedlock with the duke of gloucester

 

my sister is married to travis tritts cousin.. thats as close as i can get to being related to anyone famous...

 

as i understand it records of william wallace's personal life are sketchy, and while plenty of people are undoubtedly related to him, as far as i know its unclear as to whether there are any direct descendants....

still its cool to think about the possibility....

but robert the bruce is good enough for me

 

in terms of living relatives...i've got none. but my second cousin in law was an astronaut and nuclear physicist, and technical advisor to the movie armageddon (even though it sucked)

not a blood relation, but what the hell

 

i thought armeggodon was a great movie! mostly..

as for famous people? Robert E Lee (which ties me to george washington since REL married martha washington's granddaughter). That's the only one i know of.
