What Exactly Is Sexual About Breasts?

I was very inquisitive about sex from an early age. And I lived with a very open-minded mother, who would gladly answer any question I had. (It is unfortunate though that I was too embarrassed to ask her anything.)

Anyways, I wondered one thing rather early on: What exactly is sexual about a woman's breast? It has nothing to do with the sex act itself. It is meant to feed the baby, although I at least wouldn't call that sexual.

What is sexual about the breasts? And while were at it, why is it illegal for women to bear them in public? Men can bear their teats. So why not women?

I've never been able to make sense of this. It's like an automatic response leftover from eons ago, a visual way to spot a female from a distance. But they come in so many shapes and sizes it can be hard to figure out why some appeal and others don't. And between different men the opinion varies to a man. Size is also a primitive sorting kind of thinking. Larger breasts meant a better chance for the children to survive. Today we know this is not a fixed rule, but we were pretty stupid in the early days.

However, breasts can make us go just as stupid instantly. How is this possible? Why do some guys want a woman flatter than him while others want only the Triple-Q silicon zeppelins? Why do people care about "side boob" and nipple slip pictures when the web is shellacked with porn in every anatomical extreme?

I don't know why I love breasts. Perhaps some electroshock would help. Or maybe :sifone: !!!

 

I agree about male/female breast thing. It's odd that we have decided certain parts of the body are just too dirty to see.

 

I read once that some evolutionary scientists theorize the sexualization of breasts came about when our ancestral species started to walk upright and the female's ass wasn't so in your face anymore.

1) People are attracted to symmetrical things
2) Heterosexual men are attracted to breasts on a carnal level, because subconsciously they are picking out breasts that will nourish their future offspring.


As far as for baring breasts, it's a societal/cultural thing. Being that the majority of men have sexualized women's breasts, it's considered 'nudity' for a woman to bare her chest. It is nothing more than a double standard.

 

I think it's a combination of things. I agree with the above theories about breasts distinguishing a female from a male, and the fact that they can resemble a woman's back side.

I also think that whatever sex that you are attracted to, over time you become attuned to areas of the body and mind that might turn on a current or prospective sexual partner. Since breasts are sensitive parts of the body, and touch can be delivered in an infinite amount of ways, in order to produce stimulation, I think we (men and women who are attracted to females) naturally developed a feeling of excitement when we see them. They become another means to possibly filling a want/need.
