What happened to Beatniks? They're a major reason why the hippie culture even exists today, yet I hardly hear about them. Where'd they all go?
yup they all pretty much up and died...i think they have a pretty strong legacy though, all my friends were obsessed with on the road for a while, it influenced us pretty heavily, and every once in a while i'll find a good reason to make a neal cassady reference...and i read gingsberg all the time...so i wouldnt' say you never hear about them anymore, you just dont hear about them in the media because you can't really report news on a bunch of dead people.
