Last night I had a dream that I mixed orange flavored Robutussin with orange soda and I felt high from it in my dream. However, I don't think the effects match Robutussin. The high I felt in my dream was like slowed movement and vision, kind of like moving your eyes from left to mid to right, but all at once and not doing it on purpose, and I felt really good and stoney and heavy. My vision was kind of blurred and I remembered having a smile the whole time. Does anyone know what drug is like this?

It's your brain sad that you're drinking the most disgusting pharmaceutical of them all.

It was a dream...doesn't have to match a real drug...

maybe you were feeling the DMT being released through your pineal gland o.0

the pineal gland releases melatonin, not DMT (and melatonin doesn't metabolize into DMT). there's no metabolic pathway in the pineal to produce DMT (DMT is typically produced via INMT in the peripheral tissues, not the brain).

    http://www.tripzine.com/pit/DMT_TA_anxiolytic.pdf

"Human INMT was expressed in the lung, thyroid, adrenal gland, heart, muscle, and spinal cord, but not in the brain. The authors observe high Km values (an order of magnitude higher than in previous studies
[33,34]) of TYP for recombinant human INMT and
an absence of INMT mRNA transcripts in the brain.
Thus, Thompson et al. conclude that the production
of DMT in humans is not physiologically significant. "

    "In a short half-page report
in Nature, Franzen and Gross [8] reported the presence
    of N,N-dimethyltryptamine in human blood
    (8 · 10^9 g/mL) and urine (4 · 10^5 g/24 h).
Subsequent research found these levels to be too
high and that the average concentrations in normal
subjects tended to be around 5 · 10^10 g/mL in
    blood [12] and 4 · 10^7 g/24 h in urine [23]. (It
should be noted that the threshold dose to produce
subjective effects in humans is about 5 · 10^5 g/
kg, which leads to peak blood concentrations of
    1 · 10^8 g/mL [18,24])."

there goes both the pineal gland and dream theories. interestingly, (but not surprisingly) Dr. Strassman is still looking there with his Cottonwood Research Foundation projects, so who knows what they may eventually find with sensitive enough assays.

but for the OP: as the others have said, it's likely DXM. you wuz robotrippin'

the drug it matches is a dream...your brain trying to tell you something, both cases the dreams were about purely scumbag drugs...the dream then odviosly is telling you to slow the fuck down before ya get in over your head and start messin with shit that will fuck up your life
    isnt that odvios?
in dreams often the thing you feel was important after u wake, in this case tyhe high isnt whats important, whats important is that you were taking shity drugs seeking a new high, its a warning that your on a slippery slope draggin ya downhill...im not making assumptions based on any knowledge of your personalities or drug history, just based solely on the dream itself
only you can look at your drug history and family history of addictions and your own coping skills and decide what to do with this dream warning...it maybe just warning you against tryimng something youve been thinking about, moight be telling you that something u use currently is very negative for you, or could be wartning against a tendency towards adictive behavior
but its certainly not about some high you should try to find

What's the question? What your dream is about, or what drug you took before having the dream? I guess I'm a bit confused.

If you're asking what caused the dream, then I would say it's something you took before that causes you to have strange dreams. Sometimes when I get really high and fall asleep, I have the trippiest dreams imaginable. Other times, I have trippy dreams even when I'm completely sober..so either it's caused by some experience I've had or caused by a drug that's still in my system. Hell, sometimes I have random visual hallucinations out of nowhere when I haven't touched a drug in weeks.

I was completely sober at the time of falling asleep. It was at the peak of the time period of my REM cycle.
