i think mine are thin and loopie and i want to see how some of your thinner locks have matured and stood the test of time......oh and what about the stringy uneven ends how do they mature...im only six months into lightly backcombed and sectioned off with beads...
I don't know what you consider thin, but I have on average thinner locks than most I see on here. I ripped them apart everyday for over year so are the size of pencils, others a Sharpie marker and a few are inch in diameter. I quit ripping regularly because they were getting progressively thinner and I feared the weight of the locks would cause them to break off. Now they are much better off not being ripped more than once a month. Here is some of mine from June. They have changed a lot even since then. Mostly longer and fatter. http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=367347&f=209 All the loose hair is from ripping them apart. It's starting to form into new dreads now...it's much longer and annoying as hell cause its gets in my face.
My thinnest two are right next to each other and thinner than a normal pencil (thickest is about the size of a highlighter). One of them is pretty loopy. The other used to be but it's pretty smooth now. I've always considered trying to coax them together but I've started to like how they look.
My thinnest one is like the runt of the litter. Most of mine are like an inch or so thick--the thin one is 1/2-3/4 of a centimeter. It's in the back and was the first one to pop up because I have a habit of playing with it.
Mine is similar. It was just hair that wasnt dreading into a lock, and kindof separated itself, so I twist-n-ripped it into its own little mini dread. I have tons of different sizes from quite tiny to pretty big (bigger then my thumb) but I find that the bigger ones have a harder time locking up? I recently combed out one dick, separated it into 2 smaller ones, and then re-back combed them. MUCH happier now. edit: pic added
