I am curious because I am under so much stress and strain that I think I have one. I have heartburn or a sick feeling in my tummy almost all the time. It's not nausea and I never throw up it just feels all acidic and weird. It feels better when I eat.

The thing is, all the things in my life are things that I love and could never give up:I go to school, work part-time, and am involved in a lot of different charities, and I do all the housework and cooking. But while I would never give up any of these things I do seem to have a hard time with scheduling and saying no. A couple of weeks ago there was litterally a day when I needed to be in 3 places at once.

Also, I am on tons of painkillers and seem to take more when I'm stressed. Could this cause an ulcer?

I just want everyone to be happy.

First off lay off the pills. Start putting more fiber in your diet, and eat right. Try this and then if that doenst help go to a Dr.

I have an ulcer and mine always feels worse AFTER eating. Also, when mine was bleeding about a year ago, I would be nauseous and sometimes would throw up the blood (looks black). Mine was / is worsened by stress.

Oh, and YES, these can hurt your stomach, depending on what you take?

I don't know about the ulcer thing but pain killers certainly won't help your body - what are you taking them for? Is the happiness of other people more important than your own? You need to realise that your happiness is the most important thing - only then can you give to other people without hurting yourself. When you run around constantly you'll get to burn out point and then you'll be no good to anyone and you'll probably end up feeling guilty about it! It's fine to want to help people but not to the detriment of your health and spirit. You have to learn to say no, start taking responsibility for your own happiness.

I did think that you might have low stomach acid which is often misdiagnosed as too much resulting in medication making it worse. Low stomach acid gives the feeling of heartburn and can inhibit absorption of some vitamins/minerals. However, I'm thinking that your body is just imbalanced because you're not giving it the love and attention it needs! :) Sometimes people make their lives busy so they don't have time to stop and deal with themselves - is that what you do?

Ill health is generally a reflection of how you live your life, the body has it's way of telling us to stop and look at what we're doing......take some time out before your body forces you too......

Sounds like you might just have Acid reflux.

If you had a stomach ulcer it'd hurt way more than you're letting on.
