...Ford Explorers, Expeditions, Hummers, and Chevy Suburbans? Do you get a bad taste in your mouth when they screech by? Luckily for me, a lot of people around here drive fuel efficiant cars so it is not that bad. But there are still many nasty SUV's which are terrible!
Well you don't get hummers here, but there is a big increase in the number of 4x4s around They just aren't necessary
interesting note: if every american drove a toyota prius we would completely eliminate our demand for foreign oil. currently, about 70% of our oil comes from abroad (if i remember the number correctly, i'm pretty sure it's about 70). frankly, i don't see the point of buying a vehicle that gets 6-8mpg. not only that, but these "hummers" can't climb cliffs and can't drive underwater like the military versions, so what's the point? just to be bigger than everyone else?
well, they're less than half the price of a hummer H2 (and several thousands of dollars cheaper than the H3). i can't afford a prius either, but the point is still the same.
I really don't like those big cars.. Those people just don't care for the environment at all and thats just stupid. They're ignorant, obviously. Not to mention they usually drive like assholes cuz they think they're better than everyone cuz they have their big environment destroying truck that makes them feel better for their shortcomings. I have a sticker that says NICE TRUCK : Sorry about your penis.
So you are advocating something you don't do? (driving a prius) it's Ok, I'd love an Insight or even a ZAP, but I'm not about to tell everyone else to do so.... I'll just brag about running costs when that magic day comes. what about changing the Hummers to E85 or full ethanol? Is it ok to drive a low mileage vehicle if the emmissions are less? (School buses, old diesels, etc as veggie cars, various other alterna fuels) what about the other forms of pollution created by these vehicles?
I think they make very good greenhouses if you face them south and put them up on blocks. You can use the open backs for hay storage with some plastic over it, and the tires make good planters for your tomatoes What is going on is that everyone drives around in their status symbol... Yup, you can tell alot about a person by the vehicle they drive. Mine is an '85 chevette... complete with rust.
You are right. This summer I went from my town to a nearby willage. I walked near the road but I couldn t handle it, the gas stinked like hell. I can t belive how plants can grow near the road.
