What do you mean by asking "what do people expect"? I never expected anything - was he promising something or do you think god isnt gonna show up now cuz the pope was a naughty boy when he was 12 or 14? Did you think the popes were saints or something take a look at the Borgias and the Medici family and you will see that popes arent all you obviously think they are or should be
Just because the Germans started two world wars doesn't mean that you should catagorise them as being all Nazis. Hell, even members of the Waffen SS became priests and monks and such (as an example).
I did NOT categorize all Germans as being Nazis. I categorized the current Pope as a nazi, which he WAS. Him being German, AND a former Nazi, AND the churches silent consent of the Holocaust, in my OPINION, I feel that he was duty bound to ask for forgiveness, or offer a blessing, AT LEAST RECOGNIZE his and his institutions ties to what happened.
