    ...to keep yourself safe if the higher power got in control of the world's nuclear arsenal? Yeah, to use them all against the very damn world itself? What on earth could you do to try to survive this if anything?

    1) loosen all restricting clothing
    2) spread knees wide appart
    3) bend down so your head is between your knees
    4) kiss your ass good by.

    one thing though. if a "power" were "higher" it wouldn't NEED nukes, now would it?

    this is actually an excellent argument AGAINST the existence of any higher power wishing to cause us suffering and harm.

    that we are even here now at all.

    The Op presents a false dilemma. The use of nuclear weapons is not the author of "harm". Avoiding nuclear incineration does not change in any respect the fact that metabolism requires 100% mortality. The idea that we can "save lives" is probably the single most distorting concept about the nature of the self and the world that we face.
