Simple enough question: what are your most favorite lyrical phrases? Or what phrases really hit you hard but are short and sweet? You can also tell why it mean so much to you or whatnot.

    I'll start it off:

Most recently Modest Mouse killed me with "You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death?"

And Cedric from the Mars Volta really hit me when he said, "One day this chalkline will circle the city"

    So what are yours?

I wish I was a headlight.....on a north bound train! I'd shine my light through the coooool Colorad-ohh rain.

Well, I like how this sounds and I think it's fun to sing. But mostly, I think being a headlight on a train in Colorado would be fucking sweet! Freedom!

Positively 4th Street: I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes and just for that one moment, I could be you. Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes. You'd know what a drag it is to see you.

    ...there is one for now.

wow yeah that's one of mine too... I wouldn't really know... hmm let me think about it....

Maybe you'll be president, but know right from wrong... or in the flood you'll build an ark, and sail us to the moon....
    - Radiohead

There's a gap in between, there's a gap where we meet,
where I end and you begin.
I'm sorry for us, the dinosaurus roam the earth, the sky turns green,
where I end and you begin
I'm up in the clouds, I'm up in the clouds, and I can't and I can't come down.
I can watch but not take part, where I end and where you start,
where you, you left me alone...

    X will mark the place,
like the parting of the waves,
like a house falling into the sea,
    into the sea...

    I will eat you alive,
    There'll be no more lies...
    - Radiohead (It's about how god looks down on earth and what he thinks about it)

"Show me show me show me how you do that trick, the one that makes me scream" she said, "the one that makes me laugh" she said, and threw her arms around my neck

    - beatles, of course...
