id be interested in hearing what some of you are currently reading. also if you could think of a favorite book (difficult i know) that you would recommend to anyone, what would that be? at the moment im reading a book called "Job's Body", it dives into the anatomy and physiology of the human body in a far from bland way. its geared toward the study of why different forms of bodywork are effective. im also about halfway through a tom robbins novel titled "jitterbug perfume" at the moment. iv got a soft spot for robbins, if'n you'v never read his books i would decribe his style as taking the most random bits of infomation and throwing them into a blender with a handful of psychedelics, insane babbling, and irie philosophy only to have the finished product come out with all dots connected. i like him anyway. this ones about beets, perfume, the horn god pan, and the quest for immortality. one of my favorites that id recommend to anyone is the Hua Hu Ching, translated by Hua-Ching Ni. another Lao Tzu text (it seems that is debatable), like the tao teh ching but much more full and potent imo.
i picked up a copy of End The Fed by Dr.Ron Paul. but im finishing up The Last American Man by Eizabeth Gilbert.
The Road- Cormac McCarthy. great book.. excellently imagined, and perfectly executed in the writing style.. what a great job at capturing a post-apocolyptic world without relying on old standards or hollywood cliches.. i got it in paperback for 4.88$ brand new.. i've seen the trailers for the movie, and heard great things about the book so what a great time it was to pick it up... i read about 200 pages just today.. a page turner for sure. will probably finish it tonight before i go to sleep. i recommend it to just about anybody... now if only the damn movie was playing at any theater within a 100 mile radius of me dunno why, but this movie isnt playing ANYWHERE close to me... how lame
The Epic of Gilgamesh. It was really pretty good. I have a list of books I'm looking forward to reading that I have in a nice stack on my nightstand: Anthem, A Clockwork Orange, and Requiem for a Dream (saw the movies and had to read the books).
Right now I'm reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and im loving it. I would have to say my favorite book is On the Road by Jack Kerouac. Gotta love Neal Cassidy
This is an automated message: BSR would love to reply to your post, but he has a personal moral code against talking to fat people, so sadly he cannot acknowledge your existence. Have a wonderful day.
Mornings: a collection of Carl Jung's writing (working on this for >month now) During the day if I have time, mostly "typical fiction crap" - currently Agincourt Evenings: The World's Great Adventure Treks or Wind Rivers guidebook Before bedtime, something by David Sedaris
dude go troll somewhere else, every post ive ever seen from you has been completely ignorant. STFU AND GTFO.
Possibly my favorite book. Took me a few reads to understand, what an incredible true story and brilliant system of philosophy. It has a sequel, "Lila".
The best thing to do with specimen like so, is to ignore them. They post ignorant things for attention, so I actually find it quite funny
