I am a snob when it comes to movies and music. I need lyrics I can relate to in a song for me to be able to like it. They need to be intelligent and witty. Either that or instrumental. I won't tolerate stupidity. I judge people severely on their movie choices. I hate stupid comedies. They're all the same nowadays. Same jokes recycled over and over. I also hate action movies that follow the standard formula. And over the top dramas. I like dry and dark comedies the most. Also silly/random like Monty Python. But I tend to judge people on these things more than anything else. If I don't respect your movie/music choices, I don't respect you. What are you all snobbish about? (oh, and feel free to judge me on whatever it is, because I'm sure as hell judging you! )
I'm really quite snobbish about pretty much everything to do with people. About the expressions they use in everyday speech, about personal interests, about taste in music, film and reading material, about whether or not they know how to deal with different kinds of people, about how intelligent they are, about if they do drugs a lot, if they approach themselves too predictably, about what they value most in their lives, etc... ie, pretty much everything.
I'm generally open minded to everything and everyone. If you mean snobbish in a sense of being closed minded and having a sense of "tunnel vision," I'm not really snobbish about anything. I tend to be judgmental when it comes to other peoples beliefs...for example, a friend of mine said she's going to get botox someday so that she looks good for her husband forever...I don't really believe in that, so I tend to think it's rather stupid. I also get kind of snobbish when it comes to people talking about all of the things they get handed to them or all of the things they buy...the materialistic types. It bothers me because they don't realize what it's like to work for what they have...and if they do, they don't realize the necessities in life, they live for the "wants" instead of the "needs"
Everyones a snob about what their passionate about. I'm a film snob. When people like terrible movies, all the time, not just one or two I find them kinda dumb. I'm a bit of a martial arts snob. when people ask me what belt I am in muay thai I want to slap em.
im a bit of a movie snob, but mostly in that i cant stand the stupid/teenaged comedies (think superbad or jackass-style) im also a food and hygiene snob. i cant use teh same cutting board for meat as veggies, even if theyre all getting cooked. i -have- to wash my hands after handling any meat before i touch anythign else. i cannot stand it when someone chews with their mouth open. i have issues with other peoples BO. i find other peoples belching (intentionally loud) to be quite gross save for a few (ie family who ive been trained to accept as they are, ok mostly my dad) im also (a bit hypocritically mind you) a typing/writing snob. mostly in that i cant handle massively horrible grammatical mistakes (to the point of not understanding what theyre trying to say), and i cant stand the "U 2? OMG! w8, wat du U meen?" type crap. yes its hypocritically because im too damn lazy to capitalize or use apostrophes most of the time, or to go back and fix my typos, but at least i know im being hyprocritical, right?
im a science fiction snob...i have a wealth of useless sci-fi info and this here brain...and if you try to talk about sci-fi with me and you get it all wrong...i will playfully belittle you...
I've become a movie snob. After watching great indie underground movies and realizing most people like mainstream crap, I can't help it!
having to live too completely with anyone else's personal taste in just about anything, is to me the psychological equivelant of a death camp. i have my own unique tastes in just about everything that intrests me, and a strong preference for not being surrounded by what doesn't. colors, textures, shapes of artifacts, you name it. ambient accoustics. yes, everything. i put up with what i must put up with to get by and survive, generally when and because there aren't BETTER alternatives available to me. =^^= .../\...
sports. in general. if people start spouting off stupid BS, then i'm just going to think you're a moron
OP: You ever hear the expression "don't judge a book by its cover"? Well, it would seem that you have taken it a step further to go ahead and judge the person by its cover. That is so selfish and lame you should be ashamed of yourself. I act snobby about snobs. When I hear people talk bad about other people, I tell them off and walk away. I leave the conversation eventually, because I can't stand it when stupid people just want to bitch about what is going on in other people's lives and can't get over the fact that people aren't exactly like them. I am really not a snob and I rarely act like one to people in real life. I love to stir the pot, but I really don't judge people and write them off. It takes a lot for myself to just do that, and plus, that's totally wrong and disgraceful. It's one thing not to like another person but to classify them because of their personal interests is as shallow as a middle schooler swimming in a puddle. It just doesn't show a strong character.
almost everything. spelling and grammar in particular, which i'll admitmakes me pretty unpopular in an online forum filled with people who don't understand english and can't take criticism
You meant to say: "Almost everything, spelling and grammar in particular, which I'll admit makes me pretty unpopular in an online forum filled with people who don't understand English and can't take criticism LIKE A MAN. "
Im pretty snobbish about style. I cant help it, I just want to give so many people a makeover desperately.
Well honestly its not that big of a deal to me. Just when someone is wearing serious too small/big clothes for them, or I know so much how they could look wicked hot, I want to style them Edit: and im MOSTLY talking girls. I like a man's man, you know?
