i've heard of them before but i don't know what exactly is different about them all i've heard about in my area is p.o.g. (pot of gold) and white rhino, so are strain names just weed that is laced with a certain drug or is it the actual plant is different somehow or are they just different names for modified weed like putting grape stuff in to make it taste grape, i have no idea really as i just smoke what i get.

oh and one time i got something that was pretty bright green what strain might that be.

Strain names are just names for different types of good pot. I usually dont buy too much into strain names because unless you know the grower you never know, alot of times people will claim their stuff is of a certain strain to give it more appeal.

strains are just variations of weed, developed from domesticating cheeba, and changing the growing conditions (climate, ect.) so that the plant actually changes biologically through domestication.

Strains are to pot, as breeds are to dogs. Breeders select different plants that have desirable traits and breed them together. Different strains will give different highs, have different tastes to the smoke, and grow differently.

LOL I laughed really hard at this, too. not the baby, just the comment about the baby.

about strains: right, unless you know the grower or are close to a grower, you cant be sure of the strain´s name. a lot of people use made-up names to try and sell their weed, when really, the weed sells itself. if it´s good, it´s good - doesnt matter what it´s called.
even when you do know the name of the strain, you tend to forget it after a few minutes of smoking it. strain names are just convenient ways of keeping track of what´s getting you high as shit.

unless you are the grower and received the seeds from overseas personally, then any strain name a dealer tells you is likely bullshit (95% of the time). so if you're just an average joe buying weed from dealers, then you're just smoking weed. it's either good or bad.

Yeah like the other guys said, the only way you know the strain is if you bought the seeds from a good source, or know the grower.

I have only smoked one strain that I knew for sure what it was, about 2 or 3 years ago my friend's dad's supplier was the grower, and he got some Alculpulco(sp?) gold. It looked different than other weed and man was it nice.
