Does anybody have any experiences with West Texas? I was thinking about going to Arizona, but with as cheap as land is there I'm wondering if it would be any different.

I grew up in west texas. What would you like to know?

Land is ridiculously cheap, my parents have a big house on an acre of land and it just got evaluated for 160. It's not humid but there's no water around. Theres okay camping ground for a desert camp, and there are sand hills in monahans which are really quite lovely. There's tons of oil work to be found, and basically everything is very reasonably priced. There are some nice homes in Midland.

I however, hated it while I was growing up, small redneck biggot comunes everywhere. I would recccomend Arizona.

What do you want to know specifically? I'm sure I could be more specific.

Sorry for not responding sooner, I've been dealing with some stuff, I'm only thinking about getting some land where I can just get away from the world and relax with my dogs. Maybe set up a permanent camp, solar power, composting toilet, etc.

If I have the land you're more than welcome, I'll keep you posted if I seal the deal!

In my experience, the small towns in west Texas are not friendly to non-spanish speakers.
    But it's awesome country.
    Big Bend rocks!
