Were religions the first propagators of Fake News?

Yep. A lot of cash is defrauded by many in the U.S. system. Less so where the law of the land is enforced against fraudsters.

I think you're just jumping on the whole Fake News bandwagon, which is already pretty old hat. I think the moniker "fake news" was created to signify alternative media sources, ones that were against the Clinton campaign during the 2016 election There was all of this anti-Clinton alternative media going around social media, so they started saying it was the Russians and "fake news." Now Donald Trump calls CNN fake news. So I think your definition of fake news is a little off.

Now the meme is to call anything that's bullshit "fake news," so I guess organized religion could be considered fake news on those grounds, but my thing is that "fake news" isn't a real thing, as much as the powers that be would like it to be. If we started holding up fake news as an institution, that would be very dangerous. So I don't think it's a good idea to give it so much credence.

 

Yeah--kinda' hard to call what people decide to do with their cash fraud, when it comes to religion. I, personally feel it's fraudulent to act like one knows what happens after death, what the nature of existence might be relative to sentience, why we are here, etc,etc. We are obviously NOT meant to know the answers to these questions in our present forms, or we would ACTUALLY and FACTUALLY know. Whether this knowledge will become available at some point, seems pretty remote to me. But--you never know--we certainly live in an odd little place and we're odd little beings.

 

Greed is inspirational, just ask Baby Velvet Jesus with rhinestones or seven foot inflatable Barbie, because greed is neotenic, infantile bullshit, promoted by the fact the idiots organize like chickens by default. You are either smarter than a damned chicken, or you best shut the fuck up in my opinion, because instant karma's gonna getcha baby!

 

Don't think I ever heard the term --fake news until trump. But I've only been watching/listening for 6 or 7 decades, so it probably slipped by me.

 

I know people who attend KKK meetings just for fun, because they don't really consider themselves racists or give two craps about politics or whatever, but they just love to stand toe to toe with people screaming at the top of their lungs all night. In the flock, you either dominate or submit, and I've been in a trailer with half a dozen adults all screaming at each other at the top of their lungs simultaneously for four hours straight. The really weird part for me personally, was how much they actually heard each other say and they all had a great time. To them, anything anyone says is fake news because its all just dominate and submit.

One of my intentions is to show them just how predictable they are, and open their eyes to the less savory aspects of their lifestyles, and how simple it is to cultivate alternatives. These are quite often good people, who simply need their eyes opened, while their religions have failed them utterly in that regard.

 

That "catch phrase" might be relatively new but please tell me you were aware that news could be biased, deceitful and straight up fabricated prior to Trump...

 

I used to attend (once or twice) some kind of church where they played guitar, spoke in tongues and flopped around. Much fun. In the 40s, a large tent would show up every year about the same time on the edge of my small home town. Hootin', hollerin'and carryin' on---evangelicals, I guess. It was crazy to watch grownup acting so stupid/weird when I was 8 or 9.

Seriously, I have seen some corrected mistakes over the years, but no one has ever called the press "the enemy of the people" or fake news, that I can remember---not here in the US. But yeah---it's definitely true now. But i don't mind being wrong---so if there is something that i have missed----

 

Its Professional Wrestling smack talk, and if you study international politics, you'll see they literally imitate Professional Wrestling, while Donald Duck is a huge fan. The legislators in other countries commonly wrestle on the legislative floor and sometime punch each other in the nose, in order to prove to their constituents they are fighting for them. In Italy, they elected a popular porn star to office twice, and then her understudy. They say you can't fake Professional Wrestling because its already fake, but nobody believes me. Running around like chickens with their heads cut off and blowing themselves up or shooting kids in schools, is the alternative they prefer. Three Stooges and Gillian's Island are only funny because its not real.

 

i thought fake news was just whatever those in power don't agree with. the first fake news was probably "round wheel better than square."

i'm also not sure why this is in the christianity forum. i'm sure religions were fake newsing way before 2000 years ago.

 

I do not agree.

I think we should give it all the credence we can so that people will start to think about what they believe, and that should begin with their religious beliefs due to the harm those beliefs continue to bring to us, in terms of homophobia and misogyny.

That we are, but still all fall within known ranges of behavior, including doing what we know is following Fake News like it was real news.

That is a part of our tribal natures that have some holding their noses while staying in lying religions and is also shown on the political side by those who sais they would hold their noses while voting for Trump.

Another example of a woman parading her body in a dozen different skin tight clown outfits, and claiming she just wants to be happy, and it ain't about the money. If they digitally manipulated her voice anymore she would be indistinguishable from a robot.

 

She is not bad compared to some. It is quite helpful sometimes.

Only because they could only do so much with her in the video. Virtual reality is proving tremendously popular, even though it will be twenty years before the technology matures, and videos like this in virtual reality can be tweaked to make the women the equivalent of every little boy's wet dream. Big doe eyes, big tits, tiny waist, and seven foot tall if that's what you want. Imagine videos that are customized to the user. In Japan women are already complaining that its hard enough to get laid in a country of polite workaholics, without having to compete with online porn, VR, and transformer robots. The Japanese specialize in making them much more friendly than most people, while their men tend to prefer their women to look and act as if they were 13 years old.

The only reason they are using a real woman, is because they don't yet have the technology to replace her. These days, they can even tell you exactly how much money her songs and videos will make, because the computers know people's taste in music is total crap. Once the computers figure out intonation, their lie detectors and AI will make them unbeatable, because they will merely give people whatever the hell they want and its easy to fool people who want to fool themselves.

 

Time will tell.

I do not see much good in the future for many, especially the young, and that is why some sages now forecast, thanks to rising suicide rates for the young, that in 100 years suicide will take 50% of the lives lost.

Adults may just have to back technology up voluntarily, if we can, just to create labor jobs to keep us all busy.
